i went after Labor Day so leashed my pup and we went for an afternoon walk on a cloudy September day . beautiful views and, a few places open for food and restrooms for humans .
We stayed in Ogunquit but came up to Wells every morning at 6:30 a.m. to play on the beach. This was my dog's first time at the beach and she loved it! She learned to swim there and enjoyed digging in the sand! Thank you Town of Wells for such a great opportunity to share the beach with our dogs!
We took our puppy here at 6 PM and had a great time! The 2.5 mile Long Beach was clean, the people were friendly and we must have seen 50 other well behaved dogs on leashes. Lots of restaurants nearby that are dog friendly (we got lobster rolls at the Wells Beach Lobster Pound but Ogunquit has lots of dog friendly restaurants) and there was s a shower area in the parking lot so we were able to get the salt and sand out of his hair before heading to Ogunquit for ice cream. Love it here!
We stayed in Eliot and drove up to Ogunquit which has a big sign that says NO DOGS $100 FINE. So we went up to Wells beach. Wells was amazing! A nice long fairly sandy beach to walk on. We walked to Marginal Way which is a bit like an agility course for my pups. Then we walked back.
