    Terrible shape and no water

stopped here on Saturday during our travels and the park was in terrible shape. grass wasn’t mowed and no water available. in the small dog section there was a pile of tree limbs that look to have been there for some time. I doubt this park has been touched my maintenance in months. also, there are water fountains but the water was turned off. don’t waste your time with this one if you can help it.

    Oxbow support dog park

The park is big, both sides. Unfortunately it could be maintained better. If looking for shade and seating, forget it. Minimal. They need to spray the picnic tables for wasps and yellow jackets. Many holes in the fence, and for that reason, it should not be listed as enclosed. Not clearly marked with sineage, and I called the city to find out why the fountains for humans and dogs was not turned on, no reply back via phone to this day. Some focus is needed for this place.

    Needs Some Help

nice large area for dogs to run in the small dog area. Water fountain in small dog area does not work. one tree for shade.. not ideal for hot summer day. Our boys are about 15 pounds each so it was nice for them. I definitely would NOT bring my smaller ones, there are gaps under some areas that a curious little one could definitely get out. I would bring them back, I am thankful I brought water for them.

    Meh

I visited this place on 16june2019. There was very little grass and hardly any trees. Not the best place for a black dog. Water fountain unusable by dogs. Bring a bowl. Didn’t spend much time here.

    Fabulous!

Took our rescue Boxer there this morning - great spot! He got to really stretch his legs (& boy, can he run!), finally getting to be a bouncy Boxer. Biggest fenced dog park I've ever seen - at least an acre, securely fenced.

    Yikes

WARNING - I came through Columbus, GA with my mother and her two 20lb dogs. Nobody else was at the dog park but it looked very nice. We went into the dog park with our dogs and some lunch, and sat down at the far picnic table. The dogs were near us and just as we had sat down to eat, one dog let out a loud yelp! When we looked to see what was wrong, several wasps were around one dog and had stung him. We went over to the other picnic table near the gate and noticed two wasps there and decided to just leave. No wonder nobody else was there, wasps seem to have claimed the park!

Pros - The park is nice looking with two picnic tables in the small dog area and two in the big dog area. It's go wood chips for the ground cover, and doggy bags available for cleaning up after your dog, as well as water fountains for people and dogs.

Cons - obviously the wasps, and also not enough shade, and not very good signage to find the park.
P.S. Our dog was ok after being stung, :)

Park looks beautiful I was not able to enter yet. The park is not open on Sundays and closed early Saturdays this could be why it is not popular.

    Nice large split Dog park

nice large open area, fenced in with a dog water fountain. just wish it had a little more shade. I big thumbs up though. Also it needs more signage in order to find it easily.

    impressed

We've been looking for somewhere fenced to take our dogs to run and play. This is a great place with two separate areas. (One for large dogs and one for small dogs) Large gated area, wood chips/mulch, water fountains, and picnic tables.

    great dog park, just empty

This is a really nice dog park!! Coming from Florida where everything is dirt and sand, the grass and mulch at this park is much appreciated! Plus they have really nice metal benches and picnic tables for the humans, and a water fountain for both humans and dogs! The park is split into equally large small dog (under 30lbs) and large dog (over 30lbs) sections, and both are equally nice! The only downside is the location- it's behind the Infantry Museum, so it's a bit of a drive for people in north columbus. In addition, i don't think it's well advertised because I had to do some serious googling to even find out columbus had a dog park, and there where no dogs when I took mine. Which is a shame cuz this place is great!!
