    Flies

Two dog parks (across the road from each other). Grass and dirt. Water. Bench. Limited shade. Lots of flies. Nothing notable. Maybe try in winter and hopefully flies will be gone.

    Found The Large Dog Park

IF your facing the small dog park.... it’s behind you across the street. The area is larger and all sand.

    San Clemente Dog Park

Owners of big dogs, even pit bulls, bring their dogs to the small dog park. I tried to go to this dog park (the only one in the city where I pay property taxes), but no longer go because big dogs are consistently in the small dog park.

    Dog Park Disenchantment

Located off Ave Pico then make a right on La Pata Rd. There are two nice chain link fenced dog parks with decomposed granite, one for LARGE dogs and one for SMALL dogs. Sign on the fence indicates size dog appropriate for the large dog park. Double gate entry/exit, water and shaded seating area along with a location to deposit your dog's waste.

I rated one bone and no longer go to this location due to owner negligence, disrespect of size restriction for each park, not picking up their dog's waste, no personal enforcement and respect for the reason why two parks exist. "Oh, my dog gets along with dogs of all size and besides, there is no one in the small park for my dog to play with."

Dogs do not have characteristics enabling them to respond to each other better than humans. The large dog is always blamed if an indecent occurs when the owner takes a small or a MUCH TOO YOUNG dog into the large dog park and it gets hurt.

In addition, some foolish parents allow their toddlers to walk, sit down and play freely in these parks. Yuck! A wasted trip, I drive away and have just found other locations to take my dog now.
