  Great park to walk in, not the best dog park

  more than one experience with violent unfriendly dogs and unkind owners in the dog park, BUT we love walking around the trails in this park on leash!

  Clean, spacious, shaded

  Very nice dog park with 3 separate areas. It was nice to see a large area for my small dog. I also liked that here were human restrooms there.

  Beautiful Dog Park, Great, Courteous Dog owners

  We are in VA Beach for the week and have taken our lg. 6 mo. old Goldendoodle to this park 3x so far. It is super clean, large and 2 areas for over and under 30 lbs. It is located on a large park that you can also walk about with your pup on a leash as well. There is a lovely, clean water bubbler for fresh clean drinking water for thirsty pups. The dog owners have been respectful and attentive with their dogs and have stepped in if their dog has gotten overbearing. Lots of benches to relax on while your pup plays. I only wish all parks were as nice as this one.

  unfriendly owners

  We took our pittie here and as common dog curiosity all the dogs came to the fence there was barking and I patiently waited for the owners to pull their dogs away from the fence so we could come in without being cornered. Well that never happened they only pulled them away for a moment and then allowed them to corner myself which upset our girl and resulted in my pinned against a fence with my dog and unable to move as another persons dog bit me. We then had a wonderful gentleman insist we try to come in again because he didn’t think it was fair to not allow us in because we were pinned against a fence and panicked our girl and myself. We get in and all is fine until some rude woman thinks our dog should be removed due to her breed. I have no tolerance for rude individuals and gladly told her to mind her business.

  great park!!!

  I take my pup here almost every day and I love it here! She loves to run with pups her size and they have water and bags and it's always clean! The park staff is super friendly! Only downside is I wish they had lights at night so hours could be extended. During summer it's perfect!

  Great park. Lots of trees.

  And it is near Lynnhaven Boat and Beach facility which offers affordable beach access for 24 hours for $5 for non-residents. The beach is on Lynnhaven Roads which is where the Chesapeake and Atlantic converge. Want to eat some great Southern cooking, Piccadilly Cafeteria offers great Southern cooking at very affordable prices. It is not pet-friendly so it is hot, it means to-go food for pet-owners. Piccadilly is 9 miles South on Miltary Highway on the far east side of Norfolk.

  Nice dog-park separated for under 30 pounds. It is next to a great kids' playground. Playground is not fenced, so your dog can be near the kids on the leash outside the dog park. Taste restaurant is nearby.

  Park of choice

  I regularly bring my dog to this park. It is well maintained and there are always a few other fun dogs to play with. Bags and water provided. As of November 2015, a generator with lights has been set up for after-sunset socializing. Plus, it's right next to Taste!
