We have a husky that likes to wander and isn’t too fond of the park. Also if your pup has a high prey drive to little critters like squirrels and chickens I would advise you keep an exceptional close eye or just not go. There is a house with chickens and only had a 4ft fence. The park is enclosed by neighboring fences and most of the park has been made with people volunteering and donating items (which is very kind). We have been several times and seems like it’s more of a enclosed trail system rather than a play park.

Appa (siberian husky) is just over 1yo, and she's very submissive and shy, this park was wonderful. She stayed pretty close to me but was able to explore and large enough for us to walk around.

This is a good dog park to walk loops on. It has some wooded areas and open areas. It’s nice that it’s shaded in some areas, especially on hot days. With water, there is no water source, but other people always bring water and there always seems to be plenty.
In regards to the other person’s comment about the dogs attacking her dog... that’s just sad. Sucks that happened, but you can’t blame the park. Blame lack of socialization, lack of training, lack of knowledge... basically blame the owners. I’ve traveled all over the US with my 3 dogs. I see plenty of reviews where people have bad experiences. It happens. It’s part of the risk of taking your dog to dog park. Only thing I can suggest is to educate yourself on dog behavior and watch other dogs cues for aggressive behavior. I’ve left dog parks when I’ve seen bad behaviors and heard the dog fight as I was getting in my car in parking lot. Be prepared, be educated, and know what to do if a fight breaks out. Protect yourself and your dog. Continue to socialize and train your dogs. But please don’t blame the park, it’s the owners that are at fault. - AndreaOct 27, 2020Upset Dog Owner
We loved this park but tonight we brought our miniature poodle on a walk to try and socialize her. She has been scared of bigger dogs since she had bad experiences when she was younger. 2 dogs came up and bit her and continued to try and grab her while she was in my arms. The owner of one of the dogs didn’t try to call their dog back or even scold them. Instead they made a comment that our dog was too small to be at the park. Won’t be returning. Keep your aggressive dogs on a leash!

My dog loves running there she always has lots of other friendly dogs of all sizes and ages to play with. It is well maintained and there is even lots of tennis balls.

My Grandson was bitten by a Weimaraner on Sunday. (9-11-2016) as we were leaving the Dog Park from the West entrance. We stopped to pick up a bag of Poo somebody hung on the fence and the Weimaraner attacked him as he stood next to me. There have been 2 pit bull attacks on other dogs in the last 2 weeks.

I was bit tonight by a dog in the dog park. The dog was not on a leash and the owner had to retrieve the dog from me. She was angry at me. I did not have a dog. I was walking there for exercise. The dog bit me on my leg and drew blood. The owner was angry at me because I had a walking stick. I just had total knee surgery a month ago and was needing the exercise and also the walking stick. I live at the entrance of the park on Altamont street and have been friendly to the walkers but if this happens again, I will ask the city and the waste management to close the park.

We love this dog park! This is our happy place to play with other dogs and chat with other dog lovers. My children love to play in "the woods" and see the varieties of dogs. It does feel like you are walking in the woods even though you are surrounded by houses. I never feel secluded or unsafe because it is tucked into a neighborhood and next to an elementary school.

Came here expecting basically a fenced school field. There are trails to hike, benches to sit on, a place for fetch. All the dogs stick surprisingly close to their people. Water bowls are set up but bring your own as it looks like a community-maintained place. We are going back tomorrow!
