  Perfect For Dogs Of All Ages

  my 9 year of pup loved this trail! it was our favorite throughout our whole trip to Acadia. will be back!!! ❤️

  Great for adventurous pups!

  Me + my dog absolutely loved going to Jordan’s Pond. There are some small cracks to jump over, rocks to cross, and lots of wood bridges/platforms. This trail was perfect for my 28 pound Shetland Sheepdog, and she didn’t have any difficulty with it. HOWEVER I would not recommend this trail for pups who don’t enjoy jumping or are afraid of going over rough/new surfaces like rocks & wood.

  Great trail but challenging at times.

  The trail is a little over 3 miles. Most of it is on level gravel roads and very easy. Then when you get to the other side, there are many drainage sites along the path (your dog may need to jump over them). Additionally, there are raised wooden paths and some spots where they are just rocks to climb over. Our girl did great (11 year old chocolate lab), but I was surprised that she was so willing to go through the rocks. You could always do the easy parts and then just turn around if the rocks are too challenging for your pup. Take note that dogs can not swim in the pond as it is a public water supply.

  Nice walk with beautiful views

  We did the Jordan Pond loop hike, but added in the Bubbles, Conners Nubble and Eagle Lake (7.5. miles). The hike up South Bubble required some scrambling and the doggos needed a boost at one point, but otherwise did great. If you and your doggos are active and enjoy hiking, I would highly recommend doing this. Overall a great day with gorgeous views and some tired pups post hike.

  Amazing Trail

  This was a little over 3 miles, a loop around the pond. Absolutely gorgeous scenery! There is a large section that is rock climbing and board walk, would not be easy for pets with health issues.

  Nice views

  This hike is 3.3 mile loop. Relatively easy. Some rock scramble and walking on wooden raised planks for a portion of the hike. Bad part is that dog can't cool off in the water as its public water supply.

  Lovely hike but sections may be technically challenging for some

  Acadia overall is a WONDERFUL place for pets. Relatively speaking, Jordan's Pond is a nice, easy hike, mostly flat and not super long (about 2.5 miles). The right side of the lake is quite different than the left (when looking at the lake from the restaurant). The right side is a super easy, basic, flat, gravel trail. But the left side requires dog and human to have a bit more balance and control as you have to walk a long portion of the trail on raised planks and there is some rock scramble. If you do the whole lake, recommend going clockwise to do that part first. I am a single moderately fit handler with two fit decently controlled dogs, but was glad I did that piece first just b/c of the amount of focus it took to manage myself and the dogs, especially at tight spots where we had to cross paths with hikers coming the other way. Would not be good for reactive dogs b/c of the volume of people and other dogs. For handlers with any concerns over their own fitness, their dogs fitness, or the ability to manage their pups in various situations, I recommend going counterclockwise and just doing the first half (or less) of the lake trail and then coming back. Will still be a nice scenic hike.
