  Great location

  Anyone who says children aren’t safe here, obviously don’t know there is a sprinkler park and playground just up a paved path from the actual dog park. Dogs generally do not go up there. You do occasionally run across a person who doesn’t have any control over their pet, and that’s sad when dog fights break out. But it’s usually harmless to them physically and more traumatizing to us as humans. And btw, it’s usually the small “yappers” that can’t be normal and just play with other dogs... Dogs are a responsibility not just a companion, so if you don’t know how to train your dog, have a professional help you. You aren’t doing your dog any favors by just letting them do whatever they want both in public and confined inside the house. Just my opinion. But this place is overall, a great place to take your dog and children for a picnic or just to throw the ball to your dog to get them some exercise. It’s large enough that nobody could throw a ball even 1/2 the distance of the length of the open park area. (Grass)
  And if your kids get scared, just go up the path to the sprinkler park. They are perfectly safe there, at least from dogs...

  ATTN: Waltham leash law

  I work for the town of Waltham and I want to remind everyone that there is a leash law in Waltham. All dogs are required to be on a leash and the leash must not exceed 10 feet in length.
  Please note that there are dogs that have reactivity issues that also need to get out and get some fresh air, as well as kids. (this is a public place). There is always a chance of dogs getting over stimulated and over excited this is what causes dogs / people to get hurt. If you must have your dog off a leash, than you must be 110% percent sure that he will come back to you when called once. This is not a dog park.

  Take your kids elsewhere.

  If your kids are scared of dogs don't come here. There's plenty of other places to take your kids. Use some common sense Armando and don't ruin it for those of is who want a dog friendly place.

  awesome place

  My dogs loved it here and they had a blast, people are great. I OWN 2 GERMAN SHEPHERDS and Armando I have to agree with the others here take your kid some place else. I am sure the dog didn't throw your kid on the ground I am sure your kid probably got scared and tripped like they usually would and I do agree that kids should be introduced to dogs so they are not terrified their whole life. Well the dogs have fun so tht is all that matters in my eyes anyways so I think it is a good place

  Not worth it

  If you have to travel more than 15min to get there, its not worth it. Short walk, wooded, waterfall is dried out and non existent.

  Great Place for Dogs

  Armando, I agree whole heartedly with Steve. Go somewhere else with your kids. Or, better yet, introduce your kids to dogs so that they won't be afraid of them all of their lives. Either way, Beaver Brook is technically an on-leash park, but this rule is generally ignored. It is a really good place for dog socialization, where they can run and play without fences. You will get some resistance (like our friend Armando here) but most people who frequent Beaver Brook are really laid back.

  Maybe your kid should go play at one of the 400 parks they have designated for kids.
  Dog parks are few to come by maybe if you just took care of your kid and took him to the water park or the other side there wouldn't be any issues. Take your self and your child to another park dogs run the show there.

  great place to socialize your dog

  This park is great if you have a well behaved dog. Most dogs are off leash and it is fine love this park!

  Dogs leashed? really?

  I'm new in the area of Belmont and Waltham. We have just discovered this Beaver Brook park, and I loved it. We have been having indeed issues with dogs, having even arguments with dog owners because I tried to protect my 4 year old kid from a German shepherd trowing him to the floor, my God!! how is this possible? There were like twenty dogs running all over the place unleashed. I wasn't sure what was going on there, since the entrance have posters with legal notification on having leashed the dogs all the time and cleaning after their poops. Nothing of this is respected and going online seems that people actually recommend this place because the dogs can be free and have fun with the squirrels? into the wild!!
  I'd like to know what is the official rule and why no one is there controlling any of this.
  Please if you just let me know I'll know what to do about going there with my kids or not.
