  This park does now allow dogs. There is a designated portion of the beach right by the pier where doggies can swim and play . We LOVE it . Super shallow for quite a ways out .

  First Time But Not Last!

  loved this beach area. great for walking and swimming. friendly people and dogs enjoying time together. great views too!!

  Great Place to Camp with Fido!

  Mears State Park has a great area for dogs to run along the shore of Lake Michigan. They play and frolic in and out of the water! When in the campground the pets must stay on a leash, but that's good. There can be a lot of cars and they can get run over. There are also lots of children that may not understand not to run up to a dog. Our guy, Buddy, loves Mears. He's shy and has a great time running on the beach just on the fringe of the other dogs. He loves to walk out on the pier.

  Mears State Park has a pet friendly beach area that was constructed 3 years ago. It's a great beach area for dogs - was just there for 15 days.
