    Sleepy Hollow State Park

    Sleepy Hollow State Park is a pet-friendly spot in Laingsburg, MI. Your leashed pup is welcome to join you for a day of hiking, disc golf, cross-country skiing or wildlife viewing. A section of the shoreline allows Fido to join that is 100 yards north of the Lake Ovid swimming Bebeach. You can find it by following the main beach parking lot signs. Visit Website

      Nice year round.

      Miles of trails and paved road for those who don't want to risk muddy paws. Dog beach for those hot days.
      Down sides: requires park pass. Best advice is to get a yearly pass (gets you into all state parks!), dog beach is rather small and shore is dirt, not sand ( but there is talk of improving shore conditions), there is not a clearly defined "dog park" and park rules require leash use with six foot maximum length.
      Despite the above mentioned, "minor" negative aspects a great place to take the pups for a day of swimming and hiking!
      Make sure to bring water.
