National Elk Refuge

The National Elk Refuge is a dog-friendly attraction in Jackson, WY. Both pedestrians and leashed dogs are allowed on the main refuge road on the east side of the site and from mid-December through early April. You and Fido can view a herd of local elks grazing in their winter habitat. The elks have been on this protected area since 1912 and they are joined by large flocks of birds, bighorn sheep, coyotes, pronghorns, curlews, sandhill cranes, and trumpeter swans. Visit Website

Or call (307) 733-9212 or email nationalelkrefuge@fws.gov for more information.
