    Hillsborough River State Park

    Located just a few minutes down the road from Tampa, Hillsborough River State Park in Thonotosassa seems a million miles away from the urban sprawl. This Florida state park has four pet-friendly hiking trails to choose from, which are over seven miles in length. Leashed dogs are welcome to join you in most outdoor areas, but they're not permitted inside buildings. The park is open daily, and there is an entrance fee. Visit Website

      Beautiful

      Nice path along the water and plenty of trails to explore, not too busy for a holiday weekend, friendly pets and people especially when the trail gets a bit tight in some spots, will be back

      Great hiking trails

      We hiked with our dog on some not very busy trails here. Not many do the Seminole trail so highly recommend it with a dog who otherwise say hi to everyone.

      Great nature walk/hike!

      Pretty views of the water, cool nature, and a good workout with your pup! Be sure to bring plenty of water to drink and do not go too close to the water as there are many alligators

      Nice Hike

      This is a great place to hike with dogs just be sure to bring plenty of water and your own poop bags. The river is full of gators (as is any body of freshwater in Fl) so keep the pups away from the water!
