    Point Mugu State Park

    Point Mugu State Park, located in the Santa Monica Mountains, features five miles of ocean shoreline with rocky bluffs, sandy beaches, sand dunes, rugged hills and uplands, two major river canyons and wide grassy valleys dotted with sycamores, oaks and a few native walnuts. Leashed pets are welcome throughout the day use areas including campgrounds and day use areas. Pets are not permitted on any backcountry trails or dirt roads. There are more than 70 miles of hiking trails. The beach also features swimming, body surfing and surf fishing. The park includes the jagged pinnacles of the Boney Mountains State Wilderness Area.       Mugu beach park n of Malibu. what a wonderful place for our dog and us. WOW!

      What a nice dog friendly beach. Our Bizmark played, swam, dug trenches and holes

      Beach day

      Went in Jan 2014 and there were very few people. The rangers didn't give us trouble for letting our dog run off leash. We camped at Sycamore Canyon across the street and this was also perfect for the dog. Campsites were secluded enough that he didn't wander to the neighbors. Beautiful!
