We’re lucky our dog is good for car rides cause that’s about all they can do here

We’re lucky our dog is good for car rides cause that’s about all they can do here. Great place for people but not for dogs, unfortunately.

    Dogs are not very welcome

If you plan on leaving your dog in the hot car, you’re welcome in Rocky Mountain National Park. If you would like to take your pup on a walk, this is absolutely not the destination for you. there are plenty of dog friendly trails outside of the park. Don’t bring Fido if you’re planning on hiking or walking the trails in the park. Estes Park is a very dog friendly town and there are a lot of trails that welcome Fido outside of the park.

Only for CAR RIDE lovin pups

This is a beautiful must -see for hoomans scenic drive. We saw running streams and wild elk. Gorgeous rock formations and you are above the clouds at the peak. There are many “pull over to side of road” spots to take in the glorious beauty and take photos. Dogs are welcome in these areas but not much landscape available to potty let alone romp around. That is disappointing. There are trails but again, “no dogs allowed” on the trails. It would be nice if this 44 mile roadtrip over the mountain was dog-friendly. It would not be difficult or too costly to section off an acre of land here and there for the pooches. It is not like there isn’t enough grassy area to do so. 🤷🏼‍♀️

    NOT pet friendly

I do not consider a park that only allows pets on the asphalt to be pet friendly. Oh he can go off in this little spot and this little spot thousands of acres and you can't find a few acres a few hundred acres maybe where people can enjoy the park with their pets. This location should not be on bring Fido!

    Great views!

I wish that RMNP was more dog-friendly, since my dog and I both love hiking. We were able to drive through the park and pull off at some parking lots to take in the views, but this was definitely not the most dog-friendly place we visited on our recent trip to Colorado. It was worth the visit, though, but we only stayed about an hour and a half.

    Road construction

We spent all day driving due to high volumes of visitors to the park and construction. The dog friendly areas are little pull-outs or parking areas. Not overly exciting for the pup. Mostly just a “ride” day for him.
