    Taughannock Falls State Park

    Taughannock Falls State Park is a dog-friendly destination in Trumansburg, NY. The waterfall of the same name is known to be one of the most outstanding natural attractions of the Northeast. Leashed dogs are welcome to enjoy a hike with you on the gorge and rim trails, offering spectacular views from above and below the falls. Two pets are allowed in campsites and day use areas unless prohibited by signage. Pets are not permitted in playgrounds, buildings, boardwalks or guarded beaches. Visit Website

      Amazing!

      This was our favorite spot in the area. The hike is easy, you can play in the water and there’s a beautiful waterfall.

      Easy hike, amazing view

      A nice low impact hike on the gorge trail (3/4 each way) ends in a beautiful waterfall. Multiple other trails also dog friendly. Great alternative to the gorge trail at Watkins Glenn which does not allow dogs.

      Very Dog Friendly

      We had a blast playing in water, nice walking trail. Easy fairly flat hike. Approximately a mile each way.

      Great, Dog Friendly Trail

      Took our dog to Taughannock and walked the accessible overlook trail. They allow pups as long as they stay on a 6 ft leash. She had a blast romping around in the water and posing for photos. Saw other, friendly dogs on our walk. Will be taking her back soon.
