One one area for all sizes

Asking for trouble. My dog was but and the lady said her dog is known to do that to small dogs. Needs separate areas. It could be divided and yes it would be tight but better than nothing. Wood chips. Limited shade. Limited parking. Mostly for the neighborhood, I'd say. Can't recall if there's water.

    Not worth the risk

I took my dog there a couple of times...then never again. Its smells? There is no shade, it is sod, not grass like the pic shows. I found pieces of prong collars in the sod and various items dogs will cut their paws on. Witnessed owners drop off their dog and leave and that dog got attacked. Another time a big dog chased a big husky behind a bench and was biting its leg...the owner of the aggressor was on her phone across the park and calling her dog in an affected tone..like, Duke, like come...no duke...of you can't pay attention and control your dog..don't take them to a park! Park needs serious makeover, considering this is in Carlsbad its very disappointing. I willingly drive 20 mins away to go to Enci itas community park...carlsbad should take a clue from them! Its great!

    Scary!

This dog park is small but it was nice for a first try dog park. The dogs here are bigger like German Shepard or labs. I brought My mini golden doodle here and someone dog attacked mine! I had To jump to the ground to defend my dog and pry my baby’s ear out of this guys dog. If you don’t have a bigger dog do not go here.

Easy to keep an eye on your pup

I’ve been bringing my golden retriever here for the past couple months, and he absolutely loves it. It is a bit smaller than other parks I’ve been to, but it makes it easy to keep eyes on my dog at all times. There is still plenty of room to run, and there’s almost always at least a few dogs there to play with. Keep in mind there is no separate sections for big dogs and small dogs, and the majority of dogs that play here are medium to large in size.

    Small

This dog park is small wi th h an even smaller parking lot. The ground is all mulch so we're appropriate shoes.

    Mind your own dog

Thanks for reading this. I have yes, a pitbull. My dog is still a dog. But my baby also has a powerful bite if my baby so chooses to utilize those teeth! I can handle my dog and I won't bother yours unless you have a truly aggressive dog and you don't do anything. I would very much appreciate it if others would not try to handle my dog when things get scary for you (but not necessarily for your dog) Trying to handle someone's dog is a 100% way to get bit. A pitbull if they bite, will definitely not EVER be forgotten. So please, handle your dog and I will handle mine. I watch my dog the second my baby is let in to the small park here and most of the time I see too many people not paying attention to their dogs letting them act out their behaviors that may be a negative influence on other dogs. I have certainly had to curb a few behaviors that my baby has learned from this park for sure! And yes, I go to several parks in the area and see irresponsible or inexperienced owners all the time!

    Fantastic but hot

There is no where to get from the sun, but the place is fantastic. My dog has so much fun there. It's small so I can chase her cute little butt down if I need to, but there is still plenty of room to catch her. I highly recommend this park to everyone!

I hate it but my dog loves it

Small and unsegregated with awful mulch on the ground. On hot days (of which we have many) there is no reprieve from the scorching sun. Oh and the porta-john is rarely clean.
On the plus side my dog loves it there, the dog owners are really easy going and are always friendly.and the dogs are well behaved for the most part. Parking is ample and it has a great view.

    Worst Park in Carlsbad

The dogs can be out of control at times (when there are 20 or more) but as long as they are monitored by the owners, the situation does not escalate. The owners, however, are the absolute worst I have ever seen. One man says that if there is no blood, there is no fight. Really?? Another says, you watch your dog, I'll watch mine. Really??? Oh, and the scent is atrocious! It stinks to high heaven. There are little cliques of people you can tell meet regularly and they just talk and talk w/o paying attention to their dogs. Some of the owners are louder than the dogs! I feel bad for the people living across the street. Some of the people there are really rude if they know you don't live in Carlsbad but come from "out of city". Give me a break! I will never go to this place again. The dogs (when there aren't that many) are fine; it's the people who make it suck.

    Large dogs only

This is a really small off-leash park and it's great for large dogs - that's the size that seems to be visiting there. My dog is really, really small and she loves the bigger dogs, but she gets bowled over while they're playing and its not really for her. Great for mid-size and up!
