    does the job but...

The size isn't bad, the shape of it is cool, they can make it a bit bigger does have space for it. But it just needs a lot more work. The fences are not safe, the ground is rocky and the weeds are uncontrollable. Plus -- that mud patch though... Otherwise the dogs that come are always fun and all the owners are awesome.

Do NOT take your dog there!

The Dog run in Astoria is by far the VERY WORST dog run i've ever taken my dog to. Although it has not been there for too long, the place is a dump! The dog run stinks of urine and the "wall" is a makeshift chicken wire wall that can be easily taken down by a dog. Took my dog there once because it was so close to home and opted to take him to a dog park in the other side of queens instead. Besides the fact that its a nasty run down dog park, the number of dog attacks there is ridiculous. The pet owners take nasty and viscous dogs to fight with these poor unsuspecting dogs. PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE, DO NOT TAKE YOUR DOG THERE!!!! THE AFTER HOURS DOG PLAY ON THE MAIN LAWN IS FANTASTIC, AND THE DOGS ARE ALL GREAT, BUT DO NOT GO TO THE DOG RUN!
