    Beautiful beaches with clear water

This dog friendly beach is gorgeous. The parking can be cramped on either side of the road during busier times. It’s our absolute favorite place to go when we’re in the area - with our dog!

    Best dog beach in FL

Wonderful. Stayed on the beach. My dog loved it. We were there last week of April. Rarely had leash on, beach was very empty, excellent. Many dogs there and all very nice people and dog friendly. Highly recommended

    Doggie heaven!

Cape San Blas is SUCH a dog-friendly place. The beach is truly dog friendly, many of the stores and restaurants nearby are too. The culture of Cape San Blas is so doggie-centric, it really is heaven on earth for pups.

Best beach ever for our fur-baby

We go to cape San blas twice a year with our pooch. We found this beach prior to getting her because it was rated one of America’s most beautiful beaches. We are so glad we found it. It’s also the most dog friendly beaches. You just can’t take them in the state park on the beach there. Other than that, plenty of bay side and beach side paths and swimming holes to go explore with your dog. Be sure to pay the extra fee for your house if your brining your dog. Lots of dog friendly homes. A lot of the stores and in restaurants in town have outside drinking stations. Also the vet there is amazing in case your dog gets sick while on vacation. Watch for small snakes that are poisonous( pigmy rattlesnakes). They have a lot in the woods on bay side but just stay in the paths and don’t let your dog go sniffing in the pines or dark places or wonder off alone. They are the size of a quarter when coiled up. Other than that , it’s the best beach ever.

    How To Find Beach

I think this post makes it seem like all of Cape San Blas is dog friendly bit it is not. much of this resort area has limited parking/beach access for visitors. your best best is to go to Salinas Park, where there is public parking and public beach with much more open space. dogs are technical “on leash” but running and swimming with their leashes dragging behind them in the sand. not the pretty white sand and turquoise water that can be found along other spots in the area, but you can’t beat dog friendly.

    The forgotten coast

This is the perfect vacation spot for your pups. We brought our two chocolate Labs, Wilma and Betty, and we all loved the solitude and uncrowded beaches. While the county does not permit off-leash, there are several areas where there are no homes nor people to turn your pups free to run without a chance of bothering anyone. We will definitely return here.

    Great family and pet beach!

Fun for the whole family. Clean and easy once you find the right place to be (across from the highly visible Bay Side park). Not as sugar sand or clear water as Destin or Pensacola but still a great beach to enjoy family time away from the TV. Other beachgoers were considerate and friendly. We will definately be back, hopefully SOON!

Laid back, pretty beach. The whole area is chill for 4 legged pals. We clean up extra whenever we can so the community stays dog friendly. I hope you do too!

    Nice beach but....

This is a very nice beach but dog owners need to pick up after their dogs. When I went, I saw someone cover their dog's poop with sand. HOW DISGUSTING! All I can say is it would be a nicer place to vacation if people were more considerate.

    Prefer Off Leash

Outstanding beach, no doubt about it. Well supplied with bags, waste receptacles, faucets to wash off. But my dogs are big and need to run. I would prefer a segregated "dogs only" area so they can be off leash without worrying sunbathers, families, etc. They have excellent recall but people would flip out if they saw two big black dogs running around and I would not blame them. It's hard to get my dogs enough exercise when vacationing in this area.

    clean & uncrowded!

We had the best time ever with our 7 month old chocolate lab. He simply loved. The sand is white, super clean and is definitely not crowded (we were there on Labor Day). I wish I could post some videos of my baby swimming!
Ps: don't forget to pick up after yourself! :)

    the best

I have been in Florida for 6 months and this is by far the best beach for dogs. Long stretches of white sand, no waves and all kinds of dogs with their owners but never too many at once. This is now our #1 vacation spot

dog friendly beach, not burr friendly

I am here now at Cape San Blas, My dog is in heaven. Beautiful unspoiled beaches. My only dilemma is how to convince him it is ok to poop around sand. I took him into the woods hoping that would help and got his paws imbedded with painful burrs. Don't try what I did. This beach is doggy & human paradise.

Walking heaven for people & pets

I would rate this pet friendly beach 10 stars if I could! Everyday, you meet friendly pet owners and even friendlier pets. Everyone asks if thier pet can say 'HI' to your dog. It's people and dog heaven. Come and visit... and you'll be a convert as I am. This is the florida vacation destination for me and my dog for as far inthe future as I can see.

    Beautiful, Uncrowded, White Sand Beaches

The beaches are beautiful, white sand and there are no crowds as there are no high rises. Our dogs love it here!

Barrier Dunes has pet stations throughout the neighborhood so if you're staying here the pet bags are provided.

    Beaches

The most beautiful, long stretches of peaceful beach to stroll & enjoy. Your furry friends are welcome. Don't forget the "poop bags". Cleaning up after your pets is a requirement.
