Last Week I tired to go here but the gate to the parking lot was closed and there was an old lady with her small dog and her car was blocking the gate,Please let me know if This place is open

I'm new to the dog park scene so I've made it a point to go and see different ones. I have found that most of the people who go to Barkliville are respectful of others and clean up after their dogs...and they're friendly. The dogs are safely encloused in their respective, large areas. No worries about them escaping. I recommend this park.

As soon as you walk into the large dog area you are bombarded with the smell of urine. Then out on the large grassy area I picked up 10 LARGE piles of feces (and I didn't get them all), none of which were from my dogs. A couple days later, one of our dogs came down with bordatella. Vet said Barkleyville was known for it.

This park is very nice formatted - with the separate areas for the different sized dogs. There are benches, water fountains, doggie poop-bag dispensers, and even good lighting (for later evening visits). The big item you should be cautious of however is that this is typically a very crowded park. With lots of dogs there are bound to be a some spats and territory issues. You have to keep a good eye on your pooch to ensure they don't start or get in the middle of a tussle! Mostly owners are good, but again, with so many of them there are occasionally a couple bad apples who don't use good manners or manage their dogs well. Parking can be a problem during busy times, and the lot fills fast around peak periods!

We took our 2 miniature long haired dachsies to this park for some fun before another day on the road. There ar 3 good sized d separate areas for large dogs, small dogs and an agility area. All dogs and owners very friendly. Would highly recommend.
