    Great park near MetroWest

The large dog park has 2 benches and the small section has 1 bench. Both are mostly covered by shade depending on the time of day and shadows caused by the trees. Once you get to the first stop sign of the park turn left and you will see the fenced in area across the stream. Not the biggest dog park but a nice place to let your dog run around.

    Meh

Only giving it two bones because the actual park is awesome. The dog park not so much. It was very hard to find it and when I saw it I wasn’t impressed. There’s grass yes but no shade and I was tense thinking a snake could pop out any second and attack my dog.

    it is ok

Dog park is all the way at the end of the west side of the park. No shade for people, and only one seat.
Good side is the park is big with a lot of space to walk the dog leashed

Fine if your Dog Likes Grass..

We moved down here about a month ago and my Basset is getting used to the difference in climate. We have walked at a few other dog parks and as he is used to walking on grass as opposed to ceder chips/sand this park appealed to him. True it is a bit hard to find (try looking it up there is a map which will get you there with no problem) and there are not that many other dogs as seem to be at the other dog parks we went to here (though we say about 5 when we were there). All things considered this park looks real nice and we look forward to many repeated visits...

Wishing it was like the rest of the park!

When entering the main park it is clear that alot of time and money has gone into revamping the place, wish that could be said for the dog park. Although water and bags are available, little else is. Incredibly hard to find, even after asking a park employee. Once my pup and I discovered there were no other dogs in the dog park, we enjoyed a great on-leash time exploring the rest of the park, which also has bags along most of its walkways.

    Tough to find and disappointing

First off, when we got there, we couldn't find the place. The signs point to all of Barnett Park's amenities EXCEPT the dog park. I happened to catch it behind one of the playground areas, tucked away in the corner. The big banner on the fence helped, or I never would have known what it was.

From what I could tell, the park is split between a section for small dogs and a section for large dogs. A trail runs in between the two sections. It looked like there was a covered area for humans, so there was more shade, but other than that it didn't look much different than Dr. Phillips Park, which was disappointing given the size of the park.

But it was hard to tell, because it was so inaccessible. The closest walkway from the parking lot was a bridge over a canal. That bridge on the day I was there was closed for some reason. The only other way to reach it was to walk all the way around to the trail. And since there were no other dogs there anyway, I decided not to do it.
