    Multiple Options

I took my two Frenchies there this week while visiting. In the main area of the dog park there was a rather “barky” and maybe aggressive dog so we went to the far right corner that is sectioned off by another fence. This gave us plenty of space to play frisbee and run around. The dog park is like a long triangle but with two sections. Also, afterward we took our time walking around the bigger perimeter of Matilda Park. That was lovely exercise, too.

    Making friends

I visited from the reviews. My dog loved and there was enough room to run and play

    Small but sufficient

this park while being small had working water and many toys in the park to play with. Its convenient, being just a couple blocks away from several dog friendly restaurants to go eat after wearing out your friend.

    small but quaint

Nice park though quite small. The water did not work, and it's all sand, no grass. My dog still loved it and ran around happy! Would rank it five bones if the water had been working.

    watch out!

This park has some really lovely dogs, but there are a few aggressive dogs that make it impossible to go there. The owners swear their large dogs are not aggressive, but I can name at least 10 people who will disagree. Mine ended up in the hospital. Not worth the risk.

    Depends on when you go

This park is fine and all, but if you have a dog thats not into being rough-housed insistently by dogs who stir the whole group up, do not go during the early before work hours (8:30am), or especially after work hours (5:30pm). People seem to take their dog directly here after work as a substitute for actually walking them and it shows as many dogs are riled up. My dog is very friendly but has no interest in asserting her dominance over other dogs just to try and to not get chewed on. The a wall of dogs barking fence, swarming her when she first arrives, and the chaos that proceeds inside is too much. I recommend to go during the afternoon if you can

    Fun Times

Chance and I have gone several times now and it's a nice place to let him play. Responsible owners and well behaved dogs so far. Everyone is nice and takes care of their own "messes". 4 out of 5 stars for dirty dog afterwards. Lots of dirt and mud but he likes it!!

Great morning crowd for small & medium pups

Tondee & I have been coming to the dog park for about 6 months. There is a regular group of responsible owners there in the morning from 8 to about 9:30. Tondee is 14lbs and has quite a few pups to play with (average 8-10 in the morning). Everyone is great about holding each other responsible for cleaning up poo. The pool is great in the summer - I have not had the experience of being there without water. Tondee likes to cool off then roll in the mud so the hose is nice for rinsing him off after play time. I recommend this park - as with any park, know your pup's behavior before letting him go meet and greet. We did have a dog nip at Tondee once because Tondee chased his ball and got it.

    Great Visit

We were in Savannah for 5 day the first week of Oct.2011 and we took our dog Sophie to the Beasley Dog Park every day. We were very pleased with the pleasant people, and contant turnover of dogs that were there. Our dog had a wonderful time, and we would definately come again when we are back in town. Thanks for the welcome.

    Decent park

It does need more grass since the sand is a little messy. It needs more sitting, but there seemed to be enough area for the dogs. Very active please. Will do the job ok.

    Fun Dog Park

This was our first dog park and it's definitely busy and lots of dogs running around to have fun. Water hose, small pools, toys, and plenty of seating. Our only issue is, it needs more grass 70% is dirt/sand, so it gets messy. But overall fun experience, and nice dogs and people to hang out with.

    BEWARE

I just got back from Beasley........a horrible experience! A pit bull went storming up to my puppy with an aggressive growl when we arrived. The owner said her dog was the "Queen" of the park and was just showing her dominance. The "Queen" moments later acted erratic and aggressive around my dog so I asked her to please keep her away, which was no simple task as she lunged and growled. A sweet dog stayed with me and my dog as the "Queen" was escorted by her minions ~ the dog owner and the other ladies as they went back to the other end of the park and resumed their conversation. As I left one of them shouted. "Can't stand the heat!". Sad that a public dog park has a "Queen" that dictates who is welcome. I am not willing to risk my dog to such assumed royalty or the potential guillotine.

    Not Very Big

I just moved to Savannah in June from Houston, TX and the dog parks there were much bigger and city funded. For this being a privately funded park it is well taken care of a nice place to take my dog and let him run around off the leash. I just wish the city would make something a little bigger for people with larger dogs who need larger spaces to run.

    Great park

This park is free and everything in it has been donated by people who bring their dogs there. It's a big space for the dogs, and aside from the water not working occasionally, it's my preferred dog park in Savannah.
