    Since of security

This park requires you to get a day pass for $5 and you need to have all your dogs shot records. The office takes your information and puts it on file for a year. This gave me a since of security knowing that every dog at the park was up to date on all their shots. And by having every dog on and dog owner on record means if something happens at the park you can report it to the office.

They also have plenty of room to run. The park is half turf and half grass. Has lots of agility equipment and a place to wash your dog if you like. Next to the dog washing station they had to small kiddy pools you can fill with water on a hot day.

We were traveling so we stopped for about an hour for him to play. There where plenty on dogs for him to play with and the people were very friendly.

    Free Pass First Day!

Head over to the Broad Ripple Parks office and they will let you try it out the first day for free. The park is newly a renovated and very well shaded. It has an area to wash off your dog as well as a covered picnic table area. There is also a full agility and training course. Lots and lots of dogs here all of the time. I would recommend it!

Poorly done dog park for a great location

Good effort on the renovations to the park but poor design. The water area is better and the addition of a bathing tub is great. Unfortunately, bad designing on the park, still muddy, never let the grass mature so it is torn up and muddy. No drain by the water area so tons of gross dog hair line the AstroTurf. AstroTurf stinks because of the soaked urine. I’m greatly disappointed in what they did with the money the won from 3 years ago.

    Not a clean park

I *really* wish this was a nicer park because it's so conveniently located and my dog loves going, but it's lacking in many ways (cleanliness being the biggest one). It's a pretty large park, which means lots of space for the dogs to run, but it also means that dogs are verrrrry frequently using the bathroom all over the park and many many owners do not seem to clean up after their dogs. This not only makes it gross for the owners to walk around, it's also really unsanitary and unsafe for the dogs. My dog has picked up several parasites from this park (I am told by my vet that it was most likely the shared water bowls, but the poo everywhere doesn't help) and very often you leave there with dog poo on your shoes. There are groups of owners who come at the same time and socialize as opposed to watching their dog (which, of course it's great to socialize), but often their dogs are the ones leaving piles around the park. I have heard of many dog parks requiring stool samples so that they can easily identify the offenders, and even though that may seem a bit extreme, I would welcome it because the lack of cleanliness is really out of control in this park.

    Not one size fits all

If you're looking for a dog park where fido will meet like kind this isn't it. Perhaps Broadripple could institute different times for different sized dogs. Pitbulls and similar type dogs should be required to where a muzzle. Do the DNA and prevent irresponsible owners from neglecting their privileges.

    Owners don’t pay attention.

I’ve been going here a few times now and it’s been consistently the same. Dog owners bring dogs that don’t do well with other dogs and fights break out. Or, a dog fight escalates and owners aren’t even paying attention to their dogs that are involved or annoying other dogs. I’m just tired of it.

    Irresponsible owners and no water

I have been going here for a few months now. I liked it at first, but in those few months they haven't fixed the water fountains, people have to bring their own water.
ALSO I have seen several mass dog fights, some where my dog has been included, where the owners will stand around doing NOTHING while only a few people are trying to pull a bunch of dogs apart. I have gotten bitten doing this and my dog needed stitches once.

    Great time!

The price is a little steep considering they only pro-rate at the 6 month period for a basic membership, but if you go enough, it’s a good time! Pretty clean and other owners are great about playing clean up.

It is What we Make IT

My little dog enjoys time in this dog park and I agree with the comments that most owners are responsible and understand not all dogs mix well and get along. One concern is the lack of running water which is especially unfair since we are ALL PAYING to be there. Please owners, stop by the Family Center and ask for the water to be fixed!!

    Love It!!!

We recently adopted a one year-old Lab mix. He had some experience with other dogs but has learned so much from playing, running, and barking with the other dogs! We have not had any negative experiences with other dogs. A few of the owners have been a little touchy(I wonder if they read the part about dog behaviors). We have never noticed bad smells, except around the receptacles. Great park...Great dogs...Great people!!!

    Dogs are different

Overall a great experience. The main problem is when people bring small dogs that want to play hard with big dogs. All is good until the playing starts, and the owners are then worried that the small dogs are getting roughed up. If you come to run with dogs its the dogs who decide how it will go. When they come in the park some are pack leaders and others are not. A little nipping and running is what dogs do, if that's not for you or your dog then this may not be the dog park for you.

    I love it!

My dog wasn't the most socialized dog before I started taking her to this dog park and now she LOVES going to the park. I've never smelled an overabundance of feces and as far as I know everyone picks up after their dogs. Once you go often enough you start to recognize people and dogs and it's a really friendly environment. Sure there are some scuffles between some dogs but hi, they're dogs. Owners are generally responsible and accountable for keeping the pets well behaved and safe. I love this dog park I can't wait to get back to going every evening with my girl now that the weather is nice.

    Great ExperienceI

I bring my Aussiedoodle puppy to B-Rip bark park from 1-4 days a week and find it hard to believe some of the previous comments. There are plentiful areas where poop-bags are dispensed and can be disposed of. As a "regular:" many of us will patrol the area and pick up poop, just to keep the area clean and healthy for our dogs. I seldom seen and never smell feces in the area.

As for the experience, my dog has been lucky to have always had a good play time at this bark park. Many of the people there when I go (anywhere from 8:00 AM to Noon) are the same people, with dogs who are very well socialized and well behaved. This IS a park more comfortable for larger dogs, but if you have a small dog, there is plenty of room to go off to yourself for some "privacy".

This is an unsupervised park - it is up to owners to be responsible about their dogs behavior and fights can break out. I am sorry for any bad experiences anyone has had, but it is sort of the nature of the beast.

I didn't even let my dogs out of the car

I drove there with both my dogs very early in the morning to get them some exercise (I wanted to take them early in hopes that there would be less dogs there, since they have never been to adog park before) All I can say is thank god when I got there I walked around a little bit first before getting them out of the car!!! You could smell the feces from the parking lot where nobody cleans up after their dogs, and when I walked up to the entrance to the park, I noticed three different owners there with 5 Rottweiler/Pit Bull Mixes between them! As soon as I walked up to the fence, they came toward me, which was all I needed to retreat to my car and get outta there.
