Used to be nice, not anymore.

We went to this dog park today after not visiting for a while. Had a small dog but the "small side" had 6 or 8 large dogs in it. We never let ours off her leash. Witnessed 2 large labs, 75lbs plus, trample a small black dog after chasing it down. PARENT WAS OBLIVIOUS. The park was littered with poop, no poop bags available. Really disgusting visit. You should never bring your dog here. Apparently, the parks division cares little for the dog section.

    Dog Park

This dog park has two large separate dog play areas one for big and one for small. The mud here is really bad after it rains even a few days after. Not a lot of places to sit if it’s a crowded weekend. I have found this dog park in particular to be one of the worst in the area due to owners. Most of the time there’s very aggressive dogs and dog fights that happen here and due to the mud people tend to bring their big dogs into the small dog areas and lot of people don’t clean up after their dogs. This is the closest dog park near me and I go out of my way to avoid it and drive to another. The paved walking trial is a nice option if the dog play area isn’t looking ideal but keep in mind there’s not any trash areas after you start on the trial for a few miles to throw trash away including dog waste bags which is not ideal when you are picking up poop. Also people tend to let their dogs off leash to play in the water outside the fenced in dog areas which I personally don’t mind but some of them have no recall and will come up to your dogs who are leashed which might be a problem if u have dogs that are not dog friendly. The dog park is located behind the kids playground area.

    Well Kept

We try to go weekly to the dog park (about an hour from us). This park is so large, that my lab has a lot of room to run and play. There are several pools and water bowls for the dogs. I also love how many balls and other dog toys are readily available. The only downside is there isn't much shade.

    Open areas under southeast fence

CAUTION: Do Not Use the Small Dog Area. I took my dog to Creekwood dog park yesterday and he wiggled through the fence where the gate is. There was so much play in the chain that a small child could get through. Then another dog went under the fence about two feet away, Under The Fence! My dog weighs 20 lbs, the other one was about 12 lbs. I'll be contacting the city tomorrow to see who is responsible to fix this.

    Creekwood dog park

We started taking our 3 dogs to this dog park not long after we moved to AL and we all love it. There is so much room for our dogs to run around and the great thing is you can see your dog from just about every spot in the park. There are several benches and a covered picnic table in both the large and small dog side. Every person I have met there has been nice and I have made several good friends. Yes the park can be a little muddy or dusty at times but I always were clothes I don't mind paw prints on & have a great time!

    Creekwood dog park

I have been taking my 2 dogs to this park for more than 2 years now and they love it. The people are very friendly, it has a nice little creek running alongside the park and you can see your dogs at all times. We have few problems with agressive dogs overall and most of the owners that come are very responsible about policing their pets' behavior and picking up after their dogs. I highly recommend the park.

    Indian Creek Dog Park

It also has a paved greenway trail approximately three miles long and a disc golf course. This is an excellent dog park/walking trail. It does flood sometimes so bring the muck boots if its been raining.

    missy's park

My dog missy loves this park. It's got a river for the dogs to play in and it usually has running water (except in the winter). The people are friendly and it has a separate area for small dogs. It is in a flood zone--so when it rains we can't go. It also has bathrooms at this park, a child play area, bike path and disc golf. GREAT PARK!! (need more parking)
