Great space for dogs to run and play

I had previously brought my dog (who passed away in December) to the small dog run at this park last summer. She was a 7lb miniature pinscher. I will say that our first experience there wasn't great. While I was impressed with the size of both the dog run and the small dog run, I was not impressed with the people who were rude to say the least. However, today, I went back with my 5 month old min pin puppy (she's about 9 lbs and loves to run) and we had a great time. She loved running back and forth, chasing sticks, etc. And, the other dog owners were fabulous people. I think the biggest thing is knowing your dog, it's behavior, what it responds to, etc. I would suggest owners teach their dog to come when called before going to any dog park. BTW- Picking up your dog only makes it scared of interactions.

Biting dog, people that bring in food, lots of poop

There was a dog that was biting my dog on the back of her legs. The dog owner could not stop or catch this little biter. After three bites he finally got him. If your dog won't come to you you can't go to the park. Another women brought in dog treats. Bad idea. Never appropriate. I think because the park is so large and people don't want to walk around, standing chatting, they miss when their dog poops and it's a mess. I wash my dogs feet before I let them in the car.

    Definitely will be going back!

Heard some mixed reviews about dog parks in general but decided I would see for myself. First things first my pup really enjoyed himself! There was a good variety of dogs and he had no trouble finding a playmate. All the dogs were well behaved, the park itself was clean and well-maintained, and the people were friendly. I like that they have everything you need but I will still be bringing my own water. The pup took a nice nap when we got back, a tired dog is a happy dog. Can't wait to go back.

COULD easily be 4 bones w/out the B.s..

First of all the park is NOT! feces ladened, maybe here & there. It's VERY large, there is a cold water fountain /bowls. there's also a small dog run. THIS A DOG! park! dogs behave like dogs! most all of the owners seem ok,it's the snotty, uptight aholes who shouldn't bring there dogs here! if they don't want them to socialize!!!I don't know how SOME of them claim to be dog lovers!? IT'S FOR THE DOGS! PEOPLE!!!!! follow the park rules! and stop thinking you & your dogs are too good! STAY HOME! if you have so much beef.

    Nice Enough

My dog loves it! I could live without some of the owners though. It's HUGE! without much shade, but it serves the purpose.

Some eccentric whackos who hate pits!

Enough ALREADY! I see MANY! labs playing just as rough as my Pit! who started going there at 8 mths. ANOTHER THING: A lot of dogs consider humping, as aggression and may defend themselves accordingly, YOU ARE NOT! supposed to let your dog hump! AND PLEASE? pick up your dogs waste? And watch out for a weirdo guy w/the Dalmation, named after a fuel ;) or street name for a drug ;) ??

    Good all-around park

HUGE yard with a mix of dirt and grass. High fences that no dog can jump over. They have plastic bags for waste and water fountains/bowls, along with gazebos for shade. I can only go on weekends, it gets pretty busy but most of the dogs are well behaved and have responsible owners. There is another decent sized enclosure for small dogs which is nice. My dog loves it there and sleeps well after a visit :)

    Great park.

I love it, my dog loves it

Been coming here for a few months now. My dog absolutely loves it here, and even starts crying when we get close. It's great that there are two enclosures, one for larger dogs and the other for puppies/smaller dogs. The time-out pens are a nice touch and the water fountains are very useful.

Reading some of these reviews makes me wonder what people expect. It is a dog park, so there is going to be feces sometimes. Most are picked up but it's inevitable. The mix of dirt and grass is perfect for the dogs to romp around in. Most of the owners know what they're doing, of course there are always one or two that will do absolutely nothing about their dog's behavior, so I just make sure to keep my dog away from them.

Overall it is a quality park with quality people and dogs. I've been in both yards and haven't had an issue. There are regulars so of course it can be a bit cliguey, but they are very friendly/welcoming and so anyone with basic social skills can get along well there.

    Would recommend to most anyone.

    my dog likes it

I could tell my dog likes it a lot. I personally don't come here to socialize but I would say most are nice. There is a clique of older people who are here all the time. But they don't bother anyone. The park is half dirt and half grass. It has a little shade

    Very poor citizen owners

Went on Sunday with my dog and had a great visit, though the dirt field is a bit offputting. Today, I ran into the folks mentioned in the various previous posts. I left after being unwelcomed by the proclaimed president of the local dog park club issuing his interpretations of the rules. Yet when I read the rules over again, he's clearly wrong. His histrionic outburst that continued during my long walk out of this 'could be nice' park confirmed, no further interest in running into folks like this and thus won't visit the park or support efforts to beautify this dog park The dogs have a way of sorting themselves out, oddly, humans don't.

    clique of lazy misfits

This area is inundated with aggressive, sexist, racist oddballs who gossip shamelessly while their dogs run rampant and unchecked for aggression. Take pepper spray to save your dog from the death grip of the unneutered and aggressive pitbull that chose to lock on to my puppy, or the unneutered mastiff that inflicted a gash requiring 12 stitches on muy other dogs neck. My showdog is unneutered also but never was nor would I allow aggression from him. However, some attendees dogs have testicular envy and chose to attack my innocent dog. The creepy misfit regular bench warmers just sit and gossip while their dogs attack and defecate freely. It is a sad, dangerous motley crew of aggressive bullies who regularly attend this park, I have to pay taxes for. Karma is a beautiful thing, though. My advice, know how to stand up to a bully if you go here and do not count on the lacadaisical Union County police to help with a dangerous attack on you or your dog. Be warned.

    A good 1st experience

I took my dog there for his first dog-park experience and he was very well behaved as were his companions. Everyone that I talked to was nice and shared the love of dogs. I did see some people mis-handle their dogs (in my opinion) but that is to be expected. There was one instance where two dogs were somewhat aggressive but the owners quickly stepped in and even put one of them in the "time out" pen. I will be returning as my dog had blast.

    Not very classy

--All dirt; no grass, and yes; feces - laden
    --Not nearly enough benches
    --People there are very cliquish
    --Rough terrain to navigate

    Lord of the Flies

Feces laden turf entrenched by a coven of the BAD GIRLS CLUB clique sitting on their flabby derrieres gossipping about others they are jealous of. Dangerous for humans and dogs.
