Massive, fenced-in area with a pond!

We absolutely loved bringing our three big dogs here! They ran around the massive park for an hour before finally tiring out! There is a pond in the middle of the main fenced-in area so be prepared with towels if your dog is a swimmer. I would also be careful with smaller dogs as the big dogs have a lot of space to pick up so good speed and there is high potential for collisions. We have been here as road-trip pit stops twice now and great experiences both times!

    Great Spot To Swim!

On road trip, looking for ways to wear out our 1 year old lab each day. This park was perfect with the water, shade trees and a nice field. He played with the other dogs, swam, raced around the field and then stood relatively still in the kiddie pool while I hosed him off. Google maps was a little off - kept directing us to the airport but you could see that the park was east of there. Worth the time to find it!

    HUGE

The lake is a very nice plus on warm summer days. The park is huge and well equipped. The half dozen other canine patrons on this Friday afternoon were well behaved. I’ll definitely come again if traveling through Fort Smith.

    A meadow with private pond

As we make her way across the country we are stopping at dog parks along the way. So far this is the best dog park and so worth a few miles out of your way. There is so much open land you won’t be able to explore at all. In addition there is a huge pond for dogs to splash and play with their friends. When you leave a hose is provided if you need to wash them off. One tip: Don’t use the middle path. It can be very muddy and hard to cross at times. Stick to the path on the right hand side, after you enter the park, to go towards the pond.

    Great until a point.

The dog park is absolutely great and gives dogs opportunities to play and socialize with other animals & humans, but my only issue is the last few times I've been there people have brought dogs covered in mange and let them rub up against other animals and people, I think it's gross personally to bring dogs with mange since it can spread to other pets, but other then that & many aggressive dogs, I love the dog park.

    Fun with bullfrogs

We stopped here on our way to Virginia. I'm glad we did. Our dog was muddy, wet, tired and very very happy! He now knows what heaven is like. There is a hose for the mud.

    Beautiful park

Tons of fun for our girl. We went on a Wednesday and were the only ones there until we left. No ticks during our trip. Angie ran all over and there are huge open fields and shade trees, as well as the ponds. She doesn't love swimming (yet) but for her first visit to a dog park she had the best time. We would definitely go back and highly recommend it!

    Doggie Momma

This is an amazing place for dogs to learn social skills and smell new smells, meet new friends and Owners get to meet new people and experience other dog breeds and personalities. We live in the country but prefer taking them to a safe place to run

    Huge fenced park!

Brought our dog here during cross country trip. Well maintained, poo bags, water fountain, wash station. Has a smaller fenced area if you want to keep your dogs separate and away from the lake at the bottom of the hill. Limited parking. Our dog loved it!

    rules

THE PARK IS GREAT , I visit almost daily and have noticed more maint. being done. I have never found a tick on my puppy and he goes all over the park. I do wish there was a person on duty to help with keeping the rules followed , very few dog owners pick up after their pet . I have also seen dogs being mean to other dogs and even children , with no correcting at all , except told to be nice after the damage is done. I realize due to low funds a security guard would be difficult , but I have been to other dog parks that do have this and it is great , three strikes for a mean dog and the dog is out . Aggression to a child one time unless provoked , dog out ! just a few rules enforced and back to a great day at the beautiful dog park

    Great dog park!

This is a great dog park -- it is really just a huge fenced in area that is fortunately just for dogs! There is a path leading from the entrance to the picnic bench and lake. There are plenty of trees for shade and lots of room for dogs to play or for you to go for a long walk with your dog off-leash. The parking lot is very small and some locals told us that it can fill up fast on weekends with good weather, but there is plenty of play area once you are in the park. There is no separate small dog area but there is a dog water fountain near the entrance. This park is not maintained, so watch out for land mines when off the path and be sure to check for ticks after you visit (we had no problems and did not find any, but there is some long grass and brush throughout the park). To find the park take Massard Rd (83) to Louisville St (look for the sign) and you are at the park. It is on the east side of Fort Smith Regional airport, so don't be alarmed to see a low flying plane!
