As first time pup parents my husband and I were excited to find a dog park close to home, unfortunately that excitement was very short lived.
On our first trip here we chose to go into the right side of the park which is clearly stated that it is for smaller dogs, our pup is a bigger breed, but still a puppy and met the listed requirements for said side, we had a good time friendly, playful pups and good convo with the owners.
Our second visit to this park we took him on the same side however the only other dog that was in there was clearly a larger dog appeared to be a husky, on our first visit there was also a couple of larger dogs, but friendly so no biggie.
We weren’t so lucky this time. As soon as the gate shut behind us the husky ran straight for my dog and attacked! Once we got them apart my husband and I were tending to the gash across my puppies snout that wouldn’t stop bleeding, I looked up to see the husky owner running to his truck with the dog. He never checked to see if my dog was ok, didn’t give me the chance to verify that his dog was up to date on vaccines.
Since this incident I’ve encountered multiple pup parents that have had similar issues at this park.
Neglectful owners, no cameras, no accountability, no thank you.
I’ll continue paying for our MUTTS membership and drive 15 further rather than risk going here again. - KelliFeb 26, 2021Great exoerience
My dog loved this park. There were about 20 dogs when I went, and more kept coming. Obviously everyone watches out for their own dog. I think what a lot of people don’t realize is it’s normal for dogs to squabble. We saw a couple start to tire of each other, but the parents were observant and stopped it before it escalated. If you
take your dog to the park, it might happen. That’s why we keep an eye on them for any signs of distress. Parents are usually really quick to get their dogs off if it does happen, and they usually leave directly after. There’s plenty of room and people actually clean up their dogs’ poop from what I’ve seen, which is surprisingly rare at dog parks. We loved it. - VictoriaMore than a year agoFirst timers

We loved the dog park but we been running into a lady who has a aggressive dog and she does nothing to prevent it. She blames everyone and doesn't stop her dog from attacking dogs. After we asked the owner to deal. With her dog we got cussed out and confronted with violent women which acted far from a woman. So our dog got bit and the cops and animal control on there were zero help. Don't know why there's rules but no help to make sure they're followed.
(Didn't let me change the rating)

Me and my husband had been there about 20 minutes already seen two fog fights with two specific pit bulls involved in both. About 15 minutes later a regular visitor brought her yorkie into the park was there about 5 minutes when the same pit bull comes to attach killing the poor dog. The owner of the pits left in such a hurry the she litterally pushed me out of the way. I will never return here because I don't want to fear for my dogs life!!!

I have visited Fort Woof several times and it is always hit or miss. Cars often get broken into by neighborhood kids and downright criminals. The dogs are often fine, however many owners are not attentive to their dogs. No one is an authority figure at the park so it is between you and the other owner to squabble over what's right or wrong. The park itself is beautiful and well maintained. The problem really is the community of people that go there. Most are fine but in this given situation one bad apple can spoil the bunch for the day. I would stay away from this park as it is too high of stress.

When we first found this dog park we absolutely loved it!!! It's a large space with plenty of room for your dog to run. Now that the weather is warmer there are many more dogs and it is quite packed. Many people bring dogs that are very aggressive and there are fights every time that I am there. I know several people who carry tasers for protection. We have stopped going until it gets cold again and the numbers drop.

I have a Great Dane and he LOVES going to this park. He can run free and play for hours. They have a water area and small pinic area. You will
Have lots of fun. Oh and if you have a small dog... No worries they have small dog area too. - Kim ParrishMore than a year agoThis Park is GREAT
I have two small dogs - one 8.9lbs and one 12.9lbs. Try to find a park in the area that is safe. It took me a small while, but i found Woof Park. As with most other area dog parks it has a small dog side and a large dog side.
They have obstacle course, lots of shade and seating, and of course other dogs to play with.
Almost every morning my two dogs will put themselves in my pet carrier. I ask if they want to go Bye Byes and tails start wagging. If i take them to any park but Woof Park, they are unmistakably disappointed. They love this place.
The nonaggression policy at this park is generally enforced by the park goers. If we find an aggressive dog, we will normally gang up on the owner until he leaves. I have only seen aggression once in the two years i have gone to this park (on the small dog side)
The truth is it is that BEST park in the area. Even when they bring the big dogs into the small dog park (which trust me - it happens everywhere); the big dogs are non aggressive even to my smallest dog.
The atmosphere and the amount of play by all animals is wonderful. It usually is a shared good experience.
I would caution you, however, that to bring small children (under age 8) probably isn't a good idea. The dogs love to play together and often become packs chasing each other or a toy. I, a full grown woman, have nearly been run down by the dogs playing and having a good time.
Definitely a 6 star park
