    Fantastic park!

I brought my 43 lb, yr old jack Russell mix here a couple of days in a row. Friendly people, friendly dogs. My dog had a wonderful time. the park is very large, has multiple watering stations. Lots of shaded picnic tables for the humans!!!

    Spacious, Shady and Clean

We visited about 1 pm with our Golden Doodle and found the people and dogs to be friendly and well-behaved. No grass...mostly sand and dirt because of tree shade...good on a dry day!

    Aggressive dogs and chumbelone owners

Walked in and my 40-pound puppy was immediately set upon by two larger aggressive dogs. One owner could not control her pet and the other owner was MIA. We left. A nice venue spoiled by idiots.

    Not Great

Went with my two dogs, one big, one small. Took both in large dog space found aggressive dogs came right up to my big dog, snarling and growling. My dog got frightened and I felt uncomfortable there as other dog owners did not have their dogs under control. Also little grass, dusty dirt. Will not go back.

    Great additions

The additions to both the small & large dog parks plus a new space off the walking trails. Beautiful pavilions, water fountains & hoses, tables, benches & trash cans. Lovely space beneath fabulous oak trees.

    Aggressive dogs

Went here for the first time during late evening hours several weeks ago and haven't been back. There was a group meeting there with all of their dogs. One of their dogs, a boxer-mix (I think named Brutus) growled and attempted to bite my medium-sized dog as we entered the dog park. The man who owned him was paying NO attention to his dog's behavior. If you are going to bring your dog to the dog park, you better be 100 percent certain that they are not going to be aggressive with other dogs!!! At the very least, be watching them at all times and keep their behavior in check! YOU are responsible for them!!!!

    Aggressive dogs and rude owners

My dog was attacked by another dog in the small dog area and when I read his owner the posted rules against aggressive dogs I was yelled at by his drunk friend and some other woman who was "having a bad day" until I called to report them, so they all left. See pictures below. Don't risk bringing your friendly pets around people who have no manners and haven't trained their dogs properly. I wish I had read the other reviews before trying this park.

    Park Reopens

Yay. Month after Hurricane Irma, the park is open again. My three seniors (12, 10 & 8) are ecstatic. Still some mounds of tree limbs to be removed but fence is fixed & park's ready for action.

Dogs are super aggressive and owners don't care

I've been to many dog parks in many cities this was by far the worse. While the area is nice and pleasant the people and dogs are not. I was in the small dog area with my smaller dog and the whole time a large dog was rushing the fence trying to get at the small dogs and the owner did nothing about this behavior.
Another day I tried the bigger area as my dog likes to wander more and the small dog area is really tiny. I saw dogs fighting and owners just yelling from a distance and laughing while the owner of the dog that was in trouble pulled them apart. The people there just sit on their butts and ignore their aggressive dogs. We will not be going there again.

    Watch your dog!

I think that it is important to remember that owners are still responsible for their dog when they are in the dog park. I saw Matt's suggestion to be "proactive" and clean up the leavings of dogs that don't belong to you...that is a ridiculous suggestion. It makes me think that maybe Matt is one of the owners that do not clean up after their dog. I took my dog there recently and will not go back again. We were "greeted" by two snarling and barking dogs at the gate, the owner yelled something from a distance which did not stop them. My dog was then instantly surrounded, I tried walking to the back with him and stepped in dog poop on my way because I was trying to stay calm and keep my dog from reacting to those in pursuit (according to the owners they were just curious). I ended up giving up and walking my dog on the trail outside the park. I am no stranger to dog parks, other dogs, or dogs that are simply curious. This was not the case. Those dogs were aggressive towards my dog that was new to the park and the owners were irresponsible. I will not be back.

    Friendly People and Dogs

I was a bit nervous after reading some of the reviews on here, but I'm so glad I decided to check out this park! My parents live near this park so it's great for me to take my 4 and 5 month old puppies to so that they can run off some energy. I went at several different times of day and never had any problems. I will say that the early morning crew is my favorite. I saw the same people everyday at around 7. They were absolutely lovely and all of their dogs were very friendly and tolerated my puppies' endless energy well. If you do end up going that early in the morning, tell them Mary says hello!

    My dogs love it!

I take my small and large dog here at least three times a week. The park is large with lots of shade, water buckets for the dogs, and a little swimming pool and hose off area. 99% of the owners look after their dogs really well and clean up after them.

    Regular Pack has Ruined It

I used to go in the mornings but the dogs of the group of people that hang out there have packed and gotten aggressive plus one woman brings treats and a small yorkie that makes the behavior worse. All the owners in the group are in complete denial over their dogs behaviors and the majority do not even pay attention to when their dogs poop. I will go back if they take their social hour elsewhere, correct their dogs behavior and clean up after them. This probably will not happen and I just pray no ones dog get hurt due to their total denial and neglect.

    DANGER for little dogs!!!

The park needs to have someone take care of the little dog area. Its high on one end and the big dogs came over and hurt my little dog. He has back problems now. If they don't fix it I am going to add a danger sign...shouldn't have to do that!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

    Love it

I take my 2dogs here all the time. ( German Shepard amd Alaskan husky ) they love it. They run up and down the park for hours. The people are friendly as are the dogs. Yes it is a bit run down but so is every other thing that has human contact daily.

What more could a dog want?

I take my dogs, 1 medium & 2 small, all the time. There's plenty of room to run, play Frisbee, fetch, & squirrels to chase! Shady & sunny ares, picnic tables, benches, water/hose off area. My dogs haven't had any problems, if it gets rowdy (like ANY dog park can) we leave! Is it perfect? No, but neither is anywhere else. I wish that instead of ppl complaining about problems- they would be part of the solution; if everyone picked up an extra bag or two I bet nobody would step in a mess. See an unruly dog? Mention park rules to the owner. G.T. Bray has a staffed 'clubhouse' where you can report serious problems. If owners would be a little pro-active, & responsible, this could be a great dog park! This is our dog park, stop complaining & help make it better for the pups.

These reviews stop me from going there.

I am new to Bradenton as of December1st. After reading these reviews, I will NOT be taking my friendly baby girl to this park. I can't stand irresponsible dog owners.

    Shady & Cool

If your dog likes to chase squirrels, this is the place. The many stands of tall trees will have your dog running from one end of the park to the other.

My dog is a relatively small 30 pounds. We have not had the trouble others report about aggressive dogs.

    Work on it

I have taken family dogs here a few times. Shih Tzu's to the small dog area, and a Lab and Great Dane to the large dog area. Yes, it needs work, and yes, some people don't watch their dogs or clean up after them. But, for all the people complaining about that, if you live in the area, volunteer to clean it up. Also, if your dog is being bullied, then confront the owners. Overall, I will take the dogs back there when I am watching them next time.

    Really Scary!

Today was the first time we visited here and it will be the last time. It’s dirty and neglected. Thought that we’d be in the fresh air but met smokers everywhere. It’s disgusting.

Shame on you, Parks and Recreation.

    Not the best place

The only good thing I have to say about this park is that there is some nice shaded areas. The park is a bit run down and could use some maintenance. You really have to watch where you walk in the large bog area because there is poop everywhere. During my visit there was a group of people hanging out and drinking bottles of beer there in the park.

    Frightening

I went here only once and stayed for all of 3 minutes. I have taken my dog (very friendly golden retriever <1 year old) to dog parks all over the country from Washington state to Colorado to Texas, NYC and now here. He LOVES dog parks and making new doggy friends. We had never had a bad experience before we came here. At this dog park, however, he was instantly terrified. 4 of the other dogs had him pinned on the ground in his submission pose and were barking viciously at him. They would not let him up. He finally got away, whimpering and came to hide by my legs, which he NEVER does. It did not improve in the next few minutes and so we left, despite the other dog owners telling me their dogs were really "friendly" and it would improve. Very off-putting and I have spoken to others who have had bad experiences here as well. I do not recommend this to the owners of friendly dogs.

    dog park

I would go here, but there is a small Yorkie that shows up here on a regular basis. It spends most of its time protecting the shaded areas and water area. and poop bags in both the large and small dog areas.

    Plenty of space and shade!

My husband and I take our small Yorkie here on a regular basis. I like it because there's lots of shade, water areas and poop bags in both the large and small dog areas. However, I feel like it's a tad bit run-down, and the small dog area fencing (in particular the gates) could use a little maintenance before one of the dogs escapes! :-)
