    Be cautious on the trail

It’s true that this is an off-leash dog park, but I have a Beagle who’s ruled by his nose, so I have to keep him leashed whenever we’re out.
There are two trails – an inside loop that’s 1.33 miles, and an outer loop that’s 1.76 miles long. To complete either trail, you must walk across a creek, which can be dangerous if there’s been a recent rain and the creek is running. Beware, I’ve fallen there.
Please see the website . for a trail map and more information. The Visit Website button takes you to a different page.

    Amazing!

I took my Newfoundland here yesterday and he had an amazing day. The hiking trail is quite easy and wraps around the entire lake. There are plenty of access points along the way for your dog to get into the water and cool off too which my newf took full advantage of. It's a very wooden area and quite gorgeous. The park is a designated off leash area

All of that said, your dog needs to be absolutely reliable to go here. The area is not fenced in and it would be easy for a dog to get lost in the woods.

    Great natural trail for dogs

This was a great natural trail around the entire Lake Wilson. Very few visitors. Lots of shade and places for the dogs to get into the water. Off leash is no problem and IS allowed by the city at this lake trail. our first trip and our 2 dogs led the way - the trail was so easy for them to follow (and us). It was an enjoyable 2 mile hike, not too strenuous and shaded most of the way. Wildflowers and quiet, beautiful little lake. We went on a Saturday afternoon and only saw 4 other people and 2 other dogs the whole time.

    beautiful!

This a wonderful place to let your dog roam free. He loves to hike. We did let him swim in the lake. 🙂

    The pictures are mine

That's my pup up there. Her name is Chloe. I've been to Lake Wilson off-leash park a few times. This is the only hiking trail around that allows you to walk your pet along the trail off leash. This isn't a place to socialize your dog with other dogs (as there's no guarantee that there even will be other dogs), but it is a place to hike with your pet. YOU CAN NOT LET SWIM IN THE LAKE. I looked on Fayetteville's website, and apparently ALL lakes in Fayetteville are banned from swimming....so that's why this gets only 4 stars. I'd like an area for the pup to swim.

    No fenced area

This is a nice area. Website says it's an off leash park. FYI - It does not have a fenced area for dogs to play.

This is totally wrong! It's the PD training area and dog pound.
