    Amazing Park!

Extremely big dog park for being just right out of the city. A great place for my very social dog. Has a huge fenced in area for larger dogs, separate fenced in park for smaller dogs, an agility course, and multiple water fountains for the dogs. We love it!

    Huge area

This is a huge dog park. My dog loves to run and this has the space. Trees, all green grass, multiple areas of shade.-a lot of benches, a lot of water sources. Yes its permit but I have purchased a permit yearly and I have NEVER been asked to provide it. LOL. So if you want to go see it for the day, walk right in. The humans there, can be a wee bit click-ish. I have tried a couple of times to join groups to chat and I am usually ignored. Thats OK, I go to hang out with my pup anyways. Love this place! The agility course has much to be desired, but its OK. The only con I have is sometimes there are irresponsible dog owners that bring angry and violent dogs to the park. We had to leave a couple of times due to this..

    Favorite Dog Park

The park has enough space for quite a few dogs to play fetch and tear around without feeling crowded. There are areas of deep brush and plants so remember to provide your dog with flea and tick protection. I really appreciate the separate small dog area; some dogs can be a little too rough with my small terriers. Since Evanston/Skokie requires full vaccination to purchase a Pooch Park pass, including Leptospirosis, I feel confident that my dog isn't being exposed to diseased pets. The watering station is also really nice and the poopbag stations are convenient. Love this place for wearing out my young dogs.

    No day passes?!

I have been to a lot of states and cities with our dog and I have never heard of dog parks that don't offer a day pass. But leave it to the Chicago suburbs to disallow visiting dogs from ever being off leash! This further exemplifies the snob factor of the "North Shore." Meanwhile, you can come to Chicago and bring your dog to any of our dog parks!

    Permit

As a person who travels to the Chicago northern suburbs a few times a year the permitting fees are for people who live near there and would use the dog parks often. For an occasional traveler there seems to be no way to even get a day pass. In Colorado there are no fees for dog parks and all dogs are welcome. Pooch Park sounds great but we can only look through the fence longingly.
