Great park - well maintained and includes everything you need to clean up after your own dog (so I don’t understand why people can’t do that). Can’t blame the park for that.
- RobinMar 10, 2022Pretty good
Railroad Dog Park is big and open for plenty of running and playing. There are a fair number of benches for sitting. NOTE
- JenniferDec 25, 2017Too small for small dogs
Why do planners make such small dog parks for small dogs? We visited for the first (and last) time this weekend.
1. great parking
2. Bathrooms accessible
3. Walking around the sports park
4. Smells because it's near a landfill
5. How small can this place be?
6. Lots of uncollected dog poopWill not.return.
- NBMore than a year agonice park for my hyper pup
love the park but i don't like that people don't pick up their dog's poop. It's literally in the middle of park, easily stepped on. Also there are a few bad apple owners, particularly one gentelman with a husky and german shepherd. I won't state names but these dogs are extremely aggressive and the owner makes no attempt to stop the dogs from attacking other pups. Overall, its nice and conveniently located. If you get a good group of dogs, you're set. My pup approves so we'll continue to go there.
- KimMore than a year agoGood Park
It has 2 large breed fenced areas that they alternate between & a small dog yard in between. Large areas with water fountains, trees, garbage cans, pick up bags & scoopers. Plus some agility items installed/donated by Hollywood Feed. Closed Wednesdays.
- ChrisMore than a year agoA welcome addition
Railroad Dog Park in Lewisville is a nice addition to the area, conveniently located for those of us who don't want to drive to Denton or Plano. The small dog (under 30 lbs) side is about 1 acre, while the big dog park is a spacious 5 acres.
There are benches and manmade shade structures, but no natural shade, so visits during the "dog days" of summer are best left to after sunset. The park is open until 11pm during the summer, and is very well lit both in the park itself and the parking lots, so a lot of people visit after sundown when it's hot out.
Be sure to bring water and your own bowl. For some reason they decided to put the water fountains outside the fence, as opposed to in the parks themselves for easy access.
