Rules are Fair & Make it Work

The $40 is fair: doggy bags provided, grass cut, water fountain provided, generally well maintained.
The code ensures dogs have rabies shots. A complaint forum is available if an aggressive & unmanaged dog exhibits behavior that is unpleasant or dangerous.
I'm grateful New Canaan shares the park.

    Great Dog Park!! :D

I thought this dog park was great! Took my service dog Co-Jack to it today. And he had an amazing time running around playing with his new friends. Yes, they do have rules but it's to make sure that people and their dogs are safe, especially with that do flu that's going around now. You do have to pay but it's only once a year. It's so big it took me a bit to walk around the whole perimeter of the entire park. There have a water fountain for the dogs outside the dog park and a fountain inside the dog park with 3 water bowls (I brought my own). They also have plenty of benches for you to sit down and watch your dogs play around. I love it and definitely will be going their everyday :D.

    Dog owner and nearby resident

New Canaan is the most policed and unfriendly town. They treat New Yorkers like aliens! The policing practices are fascist in nature.

    Disaster

You are so right, C. They have managed to ruin what was once a wonderful place. I agree that it should be mowed flat even though it pains me to say that because I helped pay for it in the first place but now my dog can’t go unless I subject him to castration. Which is interesting metaphorically since the people in power seem to take pleasure in emasculating their opponents. It’s like the old saying, “the politics are so vicious because the stakes are so small.”

    exclusive

I use to love bringing my dogs and meeting other dogs and their owners UNTIL it became exclusive which feels so opposite of what it should be, welcoming. In a world that is increasingly complicated, adding fees and codes to get in has taken a simple pleasure away, can't just show up and enjoy.

    Privatized

Rules police run amok in this lovely New England Town. You can only visit this public dog park by paying an annual fee, using a pin number and putting an additional tag on your dog. Dog Warden using log in information to track down and harass honest animal owners. so many dogs have the same name she is confusing dogs and is banning dogs at will with no back up or history.
Give up, New Canaan, pull up the fence and mow it.... you ruined what was a fun place
