Paws down best dog park since leaving Rapid City, SD.

This park is a great space for dogs to run, sniff, play, and even go for a swim. My little guy burned off so much energy with his new friends. Be prepared to bring home a dirty pup - a lot of the space is a dirt floor under a canopy of trees.

I had an amazing time with my husband and dog here! my dog loved the HUGE open space and the lake. There are some benches and a picnic table too! definitely a must if you’re visiting the area!

Chris Greene is such a great place! It is a fenced in dog park with access to the lake so the dogs can swim. My dog had never swam before until I took her here on one hot afternoon and she saw a lab swimming! Be prepared to walk on a trail to access the dog park, and bring your own balls and Chuck-it. People here are friendly and it’s always enjoyable. Be aware that they charge an entrance fee during the summer, but if you go early enough in the morning you won’t have to pay.

Park is on the lake and it's a great hang out on those hot days! Shaded area with picnic tables and poop bag dispensers. Great area with lots of trees, mud, and grass. There are exposed roots, so be careful if your dogs isn't graceful.

Our dog loved it here! Lots of space, shade, and things to sniff. The other dogs there were great with him. The lake was beautiful, and they all loved swimming or wading.

My humans paid $3/pp formed to have fun on the trail. We looped around for 30 minutes and then went to the dog park. It was a muddy good time. The down side... I was in the shower as soon as I got back to our hotel room.

I think this is a great site. it is kept clean. People seem to pick up poop from what I could tell. Nice walk in a trail setting to get there. Have a young dog so always ask others first if their dogs are ok. People are very nice and know their dogs.

We have taken our dogs to many dog parks. We got there fairly early 11 AM), there were lots of pups to play with. The owners were very aware of their dogs and quick to correct the pups. It is a very large park, with room to run and swim. Being not from the city/county, we paid 4.50 per person. Well worth it ....

Our city pup loved this park. At 20 pounds he was easily the smallest dog there, but nobody gave him any trouble. The park itself was beautiful. Lots of trees and grass to explore, plus the lake for the dogs to swim in. Your dog will get filthy here, but it's worth it to see them so happy.

Beautiful, spacious with lots of trees and benches. Plenty of room for your pup to run & swim. The $3 entry fee is per person, but I think you can get in for free if your go before 10am or after 7pm.

Apparently it costs $3 to enter the park?

Out of all the dog parks I have been to in Charlottesville this one tops them all. The park is clean and beautiful. It has a large shaded area which is great for both the dogs and people. Also its one of the only places that has an area special for dogs to get into the water. The only down side is that your do will prob get dirty lol.

This dog park is the best in Charlottesville by far. I think it may be the biggest, has quite a few benches to sit down, many trees for shade and the lake for dogs to cool off and swim in. The maintanence isn't that great as mulch is dumped into piles and not spread around and the grass can grow up to your knees before it is cut. This can cause a problem with snakes. Also, the rules of the dog park need to better enforced. I've seen 11 week old puppies there who are far too young to be in the park in addition to not being innoculated yet, people with two many dogs to look after, fishermen crusing the shore of the dog park and fishing (not allowed) and people that bring food into the area (they actually set up a picnic!!). I believe the park in general should probably have a part to full-time dog park warden as many people are breaking the rules.
