Not worth it / Tourist Trap

Scenery was disappointing...go drive PCH for free and get the same or better views and stops. Don't pay for this. Bumper to bumper, miserable, stops subpar. Note: numerous switch backs makes driving miserable - better to take a tour, rent an e-bike, or ride a horse (none of which allows dogs).

    17-Mile Drive is Dog Friendly!

Rent a bike with a side car for dog from Mad Dogs & Englishmen Bike Shop and take Fido on an unforgettable ride on 17-Mile drive! It was a bucket list experience and we loved every minute of it.

    Beautiful

This was our first time taking the dog on this drive. All pullouts are dog friendly, some of the trails/beaches are too but mostly on leash. That was fine for ours as he is not yet an off leash dog. He loved walking on the trails we went on, especially by Spanish Bay Beach.

    Nice drive for humans

We've done this drive several times and it is gorgeous. However, it can get really crowded & there's not much for a dog there. Limited photo ops are about it. Trails are pretty much off limits. The dogs will spend most of the time in your car. Great for humans, meh for dogs.

    Nice for Car Ride

This is an amazing drive for humans, for the dog it is good. The downside is that dogs are not allowed on the trails. They can go in picnic areas and the pullouts, but ultimately you'll spend most of the time in the car with doggie buddy.

    Refreshing Drive

What an amazing ride. I would definitely recommend this drive for anyone who loves to take photos or just loves amazing views. Plenty of spaces to pull over with Fido.
