    Ludington State Park

    Ludington State Park is a dog-friendly trail and state park in Ludington, MI. Leashed pets are welcome to explore the State Park, which features beautiful hiking trails along Lake Hamlin. The hiking trails are wooded and cross several small islands. There are many places along the trail to sit and enjoy the lake. The Park does not allow pets in any water area used for swimming or wading, including Lake Michigan. However, pets are allowed on the Big Sable River (east of the highway bridge) and on Hamlin Lake (outside of the swim area) as well as other public park areas. Visit Website

      Amazing location!

      We love to travel to Michigan and we found a small dog-friendly beach there which was super fun. There are also many trails to hike!

      Dog Beach is Great

      a rather large section of beach for the dogs to run and play.

      Dogs Allowed On Beach!!

      Dogs are allowed on the first beach just past the formal entrance on the left. if you stop at the information area before the formal entrance they have a map with a paw print. Beach is sandy and close to restrooms. Wonderful!

      Beautiful And There Is A Dog Beach

      We walked the trails with our dogs and had a great time. Most of the beach says no dogs - but we asked the ranger and found a small dog friendly area between the big bathhouse and the river.

      Trails!

      Dogs are not allowed to go on the beach. Campground is pup accessible and also can go on trails. Shops close by and many are pup accessible.

      Excellent walking trails

      Miles of walking and biking trails in beautiful wooded areas, some near lakes and streams. A pleasure to walk for both dogs and people. We were even able to take the dog canoeing with us.
