    Peaceful and fun

This is a spot the locals go... We tend to stay away from Beltsville State Park b/c out of towners ruined the peacefulness of that lake so we started bringing our dog here. I hope people don't break the rules, because this really is a nice quiet and clean place to relax with your dog. You CAN NOT bring them on the beach area or in the camping areas, but you can take them for a dip near the boat rental area. As long as you keep them on a leash, curb them and your dog is well behaved they are welcome. Keep in mind, there are many families w/young children renting boats around so only bring your pup if they are well socialized. The park rangers come around often and they do give citations if your dog is not leashed. The bathrooms are clean and the staff at the boat rental shack are really friendly. I absolutely love this lake and so does my golden. Keep it clean, keep is safe and keep it fun. <3 <3 <3

Nice quiet path along the lake side

We went in mid-October and most (if not all) of the campground was vacant. We avoided the beach area but found a little path along the waterfront that went for a little while (30 min walk?). It led us to a boat rental place/dock where we used the outdoor public restroom, then turned around. The path was really nice and quiet, although muddy in some places. It was well marked and we didn't meet anyone along the way, or run into trouble.

I recommend during off season, for a easy, peaceful walk.

    Confused.

Very confused. I took this direct from their website:

The Mauch Chunk Lake Park has a strict No Alcohol and No Pets policy. Campers and guests who violate this policy will be issued a citation and are subject to eviction.

    happy dogs in the park

Mauch Chunk Lake Park is very dog friendly.
as well as the towns people & restaurants.
It was a very nice visit. How ever if you plan to park in town there is a fee of $10.00 for the day or
meter parking for $1.00 for 2 hours.
if you go past 2 hours you will a fine for $20.00
the meters are 7 days a week.

I live 1 hour & 10 mins away. I am still in pa.
our parking meters are monday to friday.
just beware of the tourist trap for parking.
