Lake Eola Park

Although technically not a dog park, the nearly 1-mile walking path around Lake Eola in downtown Orlando, Florida is very pet-friendly. There are several dog-related events that take place at Lake Eola each year, and almost any time of the day you'll find pet owners taking their four-legged friends for a walk around the lake. Poop bag dispensers are conveniently located on the lake path so that you can clean up after your pet. In addition to the lake path, visitors can also enjoy the swan boats available for rental by the hour and half hour. There is also an amphitheater where concerts and other events are regularly held, as well as a couple of pet-friendly restaurants next to the lake, which will allow you to dine outdoors with your pooch. They also allow pets up to 5 lbs on the swan boats. Visit Website

    Beautiful Park, Dog-Friendly

This is a beautiful place! Once or twice around the lake would be a perfect, light walk for small dogs or a slightly out-of-shape pooch like mine. Big dogs who are in good shape would probably be happy with 5 laps around. The park is definitely dog-friendly. There are well-stocked poop-bag stations everywhere. (Of course, I always carry my own. My pup hasn't quite mastered waiting until we're right near one of the poop stations.) The scenery is lovely and there are lots of interesting grassy and mulched areas for dogs to explore. If you go there, stop for lunch at Relax Grill, which is right in the park, near the amphitheater. It's dog-friendly, offers a great view and good, cheap eats.

Needs an off leash area for small doga

There are many condo and apartment residents in the downtown Orlando area that need a place for our dogs to play off leash. Surely an area of the park can be fenced so our dogs can play together.
