Salt Trail
The Salt Trail is one of 1600 rail-trails supported by Rails-to-Trails Conservancy, a nonprofit organization that is working to create a nationwide network of trails from former rail lines and connecting corridors. Previously an unused railroad corridor, this "rail-trail" is now a great place to walk Fido in Saltville! The map below shows a parking area with convenient access to the Salt Trail. This is a nice walking trail. Starts next to a working cattle farm and ends in Saltville, VA. Views are just Ok but it's a great place to walk the pups. You have to cross main roadways, but there is no traffic. Closer to Saltville end it meets up with major roadway with lots of traffic. Be very careful in the Saltville section keeping dogs contained
