    Canalside Rail Trail

    The Canalside Rail Trail is one of 1600 rail-trails supported by Rails-to-Trails Conservancy, a nonprofit organization that is working to create a nationwide network of trails from former rail lines and connecting corridors. Previously an unused railroad corridor, this "rail-trail" is now a great place to walk Fido in Turners Falls! The map below shows a parking area with convenient access to the Canalside Rail Trail.       Great trail with beautiful views

      This trail was beautiful. We started in the Turners Falls end and only walked until the factory section began so I can't speak for the whole trail but the part we were on was great. The water views were wonderful. Plentiful picnic tables off to the side of the path and also in Unity Park where we started our trip and parked. There are trash cans along the way and the area is kept pretty clean. Overall, great place to walk your dog and your family and to also have a picnic!
