    Puppy was attacked.

Our 4 month old puppy who was on lead was attacked by another dog who was not on lead and not under the control of their owner.

    A Bark Above the Rest

Normanskill is a ways off the beaten path (the road is only marked by a Self Storage at its entrance), but that is half of its appeal. As a dog-lover, we tend to appreciate bringing our pooches somewhere not as threatening as off of a major road. The park itself is very clean (everyone seems diligent in cleaning up after their dogs), it's a "large" space for some dog parks we've seen, and it is near a creek which all sorts of dogs love to swim in. A couple more shaded spots would be nice for the dogs, but other than that I LOVE this park and so does my dog!!!

    Best Park in the Area

I absolutely love this park. It's off the beaten path, with some nice scenery. The person who complained about the grass being so high must have been right before it was cut, which is rather often. Also, there is a trail to walk down from the first parking lot, if you park there. It will bring you down to the park and a Great big field with a little bit of woods to walk through. Perfect if you like letting your pup off leash. No need to worry about busy roads or anything. Also check out Normanskill east and west...trails on the other side of the creek that are part of Mohawk Hudson Land Conservancy. There's a bunch more around the area.

    Love it!

We recently moved to the area and I am thrilled with this park. The fenced in area is clean and spacious and the people are almost always friendly and inclusive. There are trails surrounding the fenced in area that go around a large hay field and along the Normanskill River. I've been told that in winter the neighboring country club allows hiking and skiing with dogs, which makes this a very large park indeed! I like the fact that the community garden is there. All in all a wholesome oasis in the midst of the urban jungle.

    Nice Place

When I went there Sunday late afternoon it was in good condition and there was even a full bowl of water available for the dogs and a porta-potty for the owners. Nice area, remote, off the beaten path.

    Good Park

The day my dogs and I attended, the grounds were clean, there was little dog poop and the people were friendly.
The setting is excellent for dogs and their humans.

Pick another park to go to

The Normanskill Farm Dog park has become a mess. Grass is 2 feet high, dog poop all over the place, cars driving up and down the road that states only authorized vehicles. The people working on the farm in the back by the park are allowed to drive back there if they are bringing supplies and tools, but the cars are always empty when they drive by. They are just too lazy to walk from the parking lot. It's come to the point I can't walk my dog and child down the road to the park because the cars are always coming up and down the gravel road. I'll tell you this, I will never be bringing my dog to that park again.
