Chihuahua Lake Trail

Even the biggest of big dogs will love this 6.1 mile hike in the White River National Forest that is named after the mighty Chihuahua. Located near Dillon, CO, this dog-friendly trail is steep, but it also criss-crosses a stream several times so you can catch your breath while Fido cools off. There are also several small ponds along the way, which are a great spot to pause for a picnic. Visit Website

only the strongest with reach the lake.

Did this hike today!! Absolutely awesome. Very long distance feels like a lot more than 6 miles. Dogs love it with all the stream crossings. It is very steep in some places and the last push is very hard. This hike makes you work hard to get to the lake. Plan 6-7 hours with the steepness and altitude.
