Easy access and plenty of parking

Enjoyed a short stop here on my road trip. Not far off the interstate. Nice big area to play fetch and plenty of seating for the humans. I came on a gloomy day in the cold and had it all to myself.

    Nice park

nice big park with baby pools and a couple of agility obstacles.. no dogs while we were here . nice covered seating for the humans .. no separate yards for small and big dogs though.
baby pools were empty, but there’s a hose to fill them. didn’t want to fill it for just my dog

A great community within a community park!

I have had my dog for 1.5 years, usually we would go to Overton Bark or Shelby Farms, even though we live very close to Tobey. I was warned not to bring my dog to Tobey when we first got her. A few weeks ago, I decided to try it out. This place has apparently changed a lot since the last reviews were made!
Recently, the park was given a grant from PetSafe, so it will continue to improve. The 2nd day I went, I was greeted by a very friendly woman who was refilling the doggy pools and water bowls, cleaning up waste, and explaining the park to me. She immediately had me join a Facebook group of regular park guests and introduced me to other regulars who were there. There is even a bucket of leftover toys (balls, frisbees, etc.). There is now a hose going from the water fountain into the park so that there is water available to fill the pools and bowls.
There is a lot of space, and there are now benches with shade. Trees were recently planted, so more shade will eventually exist!
I love this park and I hope others recognize the positive changes that have been made!

    Just OK

We are spending the week driving across the country with our dog so we've been stopping at dog parks along the way. This was just OK. Not great grass, not great location and not convenient to highway. We were the only ones there so it was nice to let her run free. I would visit again if on a road trip, but would not visit here if we were local.

    nice dog park

We went during lunch time on our way down to Arizona. There were 3 small dogs there, very nice and friendly. Having a Great Dane (1 year old) I didn't take off the leash since she was four times there weight. I didn't want her to get too rough for them. Nice park! There is shade and very clean!

    Pretty Nice

My wife and I have been traveling across the country over the past week and a half and we visited this park on the 11th of Feb during the middle of the day.

This was a good park, fully fenced in, in a decent part of town, and they had obstacles for the dogs to play on. The one complaint that I have is that there does not appear to be much maintenance or upkeep that is being done, that could be due in part to the time of the year and the weather however.

This wasn't on the same scale as Centennial Park in Nashville, but it is a good enough dog park. Not sure that I would go there if I lived there, but for a stop to let your dogs out to run and play if just passing through town, this is more than adequate, and I am a very picky owner.

We experienced none of the problems listed below, but in fairness there was only one other owner there at the time, and she had what appeared to be some sort of lab mix.

All in all, I would certainly use again.

    Very pleased with positive owners!

I really like this dog park adn the people that bring their dogs! I recently took in a pitt mix that was at the shelter for over a year. She had NO dog skills whatsoever and a dog sniffing her the wrong way would put her defensive mode. She wouldnt ever bite to hurt but she def would let other dogs know she was unhappy with them. All the other dog owners were so understanding at my efforts to get her to be friendly with other dogs, And frankly the first visit we had I was trying to stay calm. The other dog owners were GREAT to say the least and its only been 2 weeks and I can now trust my dog 100%. Still have other dogs pick on her but she def doesnt react the same way now :) Please be paitent to other dog owners that are trying to socialize their dogs. Ppl that are bringing mean dogs to be mean ought to be ashamed. :(

    dog parent

to the lab owner who encountered rude pit owner in the park. it happens here too. these people get pits mainly to intimidate. then treat them cruelly, the dog responds in kind. dog gets put down and bully owner keeps on trucking!!!

    Dog Owner

My wife and I enjoy taking our two Labs to the park for a variety of reasons. We live in the Mid Town area and the dog park is convenient. It's a great area for our dogs to socialize with other dogs and get some exercise.

We did however have a bad experience on the evening of 4/19/2011. A couple brought three dogs one of which was a Pit Bull that would be best described as vicious. They were not able to let the dog of the it's leash and it tried to attack any dogs that got close to it including putting our female on Lab on it's back. There was no number to call to report this so we were forced to leave the park as these two people made rude comments about me, my wife and our dogs as we packed up and left. There should be a phone number to call for people who bring animals to an off leash park that cannot allow their dogs to be off leash.
