North Zephyr Cove Beach

North Zephyr Cove Beach is a dog-friendly area north of the actual Zephyr Cove Resort in NV. Parking fees may apply, depending on where you leave your car. Note that the park does get crowded on the weekends, so ensure Fido is comfortable around crowds. The shore is rocky, so shoes are recommended to walk in the water. Visit Website

    Zephyr Cove

At the end of the walking path on the northern part of zephyr cove beach is great for pooches. This time of year is perfect, hardly anyone around and great hiking temperatures for the pooches.

I don't have a problem with dogs on a beach when allowed, because you have an option to be there or not. I do have a problem with dogs on the beach and in the water allthought there are signs posted, that dogs are not allowed on beach. This past Saturday I took my kids and a big dog pooped in the water. An hour later while grilling some food a dog comes running out of no where and scares my 14 month old, and then poops by the grill. Later on more dogs were brought making it hard for smaller children to play, since the dogs wers not on their leash and owners not caring. This was not a fun day at the lake.

    north beach zephyr cove

Nice clean beach. Parking is scattered. (Zero on busy weekends or holidays) dogs allowed off leash north of marina. Don't try if your dog is not voice controlled. We went on a Sunday and there still was 25+ dogs. Too tempting if your pup is just learning. All in all a great place. No bathrooms and no amenities and no dog water. You must bring in and hike out what you need. Parking Anywhere from 150 feet to 1/4 mile away and over a busy 4 lane highway to get to beach that is 80 yards off the highway. One of the LAST off leash beaches. Don't even try the California side. Nevada seems to be the last pet friendly state for Lake Tahoe!!

Really nice beach cove with great views of the lake, the paddle boat and kyackers. Multiple small coves available.
