    Needs TLC

Seems to have seen better days. Needs some maintenance for dog safety.

Great little park for our pups!

after being in the car for 20 hours we NEEDED a place for our dogs to run around! this place was perfect. it’s a repurposed baseball field that is a fenced in, no leash dog park with two separate areas for small and large dogs. there’s even a small kiddie pool for the dogs to cool off in, chuck it’s with balls and other toys and even lawn chairs for visitors to use! we even messaged the admin of the Facebook page to be sure they were still open and the person messaged us back right away! so glad we made the drive!

Grown up park no longer open

Drove from PSJ to Apalachicola to take our pup. Arrived to find an overgrown area that looked like a scene from The Walking Dead. Kept on driving. Disappointing.

    Great Park

so nice to have this option while traveling! the park provided shade, chairs for the people, toys for the pups and water. We met other people with pups for our doggie to socialize and he had a great time!

    Great little park

We used the large dogs area, and would definitely recommend it. Secure gates and fence, well kept grass and clean from poops. Space for running around, water, and bags available. Nice crowd of dogs and people about 8:30 and 4:00. So glad to have been able to use this on our vacation!

    Nice

Have taken our dogs there a few times visiting the area. Always clean and mowed. Only one other dog today, so not busy during the week.

    Pretty Big Disappointment

I don't know if we just caught it on an off week or what, but we just went there in October of 2015 and the fields were overgrown and I was not impressed with the gate system for the small dog side. While there are double gates for both sides, there's also a large single gate on the side of the small dog park that's not secured in any way. The latch for that gate was way too wide and my dog easily pushed the gate open. So I definitely wouldn't recommend the small dog side and I'd hesitate to recommend the park at all.

    One of the best!

I love this dog park. I have never seen it when it wasn't well maintained. The grass is cut, there is fresh water in all three sections, double-port gates for safety, trashcans, and shady areas for people to sit. The three sections are large and enables my bird dog to run and play and have fun. One of the best dog parks I have ever seen.

Wonderful place for dogs to romp!

We recently stayed on St. George Island for spring break with our son and two furry friends. Having a nice, safe play area for our dogs was a nice feature of our vacation. The play area was neatly mowed, clean, and had plenty of space for two active dogs. Thank you for providing this area for local as well as not-so-local dogs!

    nice place to play

this park isn't fancy but it's large, safe, and comfortable. The 3 areas are well-fenced with water in each area as well as benches for people. No sand spurs...which is important in an area near the beach. There's shade and the park is well-maintained. we use it often, meeting friends and their pups for fun. There's a Yappy Hour each Saturday morning at 11:00 that's always well attended. This is a free, city park supported by local folks.

    Very Simple & Usefull

We are very proud of our local Dog Park! Yes, it's just a fenced in area. But we do NOW have a place to take our dogs to run around and visit with other dogs. Have fresh water and three separate areas: small dogs, large dogs, and special needs area. The grass cutting is a problem sometimes, but for a city of 3,000 folks, we are just happy to have a Dog Park. Come visit! Come help us make it better!

    Horrible disappointment!

We thought it would be fun to take our dog to the dog park on our vacation, since there are no close dog parks back home for him to play in. BIG DISAPPOINTMENT. All this place is, is a chain-link-fenced area of what used to be a football practice field, which is not kept up at all. The grass is too overgrown for a dog to safely play in, there are no clean water areas, and no ramps or anything for dogs to play with. This park is the equivalent of letting your dog into your fenced backyard after you haven't mown it for a few months.

    Apalachicola Dog Park

This park is so new it doesn't even have an official name yet but already it's a great place to go. Plenty of space to run, excellent grass everywhere, and it's very safe. There's even a space for old guys (canine or human) or anyone needing some space to themselves. Easy to find and only a few miles from the beach? And things are still being added.
