Fenwick Island State Park

Fenwick Island State Park has a nice, uncrowded beach for most of the year. For rules and regulations, please call (302) 227-2800. Fenwick Island State Park is located on Route 1, north of Fenwick Island.

Sunset Beach

Paw prints can be found in the sand from leashed dogs at Sunset Beach from mid-September through mid-April. If you get hungry, The Grille has several dog friendly outdoor tables. Dogs are welcome at Sunset Beach Gifts which is open daily and sells souvenirs, books, and collectibles. Sunset Beach is also famous for the concrete ship of SS Atlantus which has been "grounded" at Cape May Point since 1926. End your day with the flag ceremony which is held nightly from May through September.

Wildwood Dog Beach

Formerly the Poplar Avenue Beach, the Wildwood Dog Beach is a dog-friendly spot to romp in the sand and surf. Owners can walk their dog over the boardwalk to get to the area, which takes up nearly two blocks. The area features plenty of room for you and your pooch to soak up the sun and take a dip. Dogs must be leashed. Wildwood Dog Beach features a twenty-five-foot-high fire hydrant sculpture, fresh water, and dog clean-up bags. Wildwood Dog Beach is free to use and open year round, every day, from 6am until dusk.

Cape Henlopen State Park

Cape Henlopen State Park has many year-round hiking and biking opportunities, and allows leashed dogs on the beach in the summer season. Pets are allowed in the seashore park/beaches all day without limitation of time of day (six miles of dog-friendly fun). Dogs are not permitted on the boardwalk, ocean beach, or any swimming areas designated by the Parks Division as not allowing dogs from May 1 to September 30.
