Pet Friendly Hunting Island State Park
Hunting Island State Park Pets are allowed in most outdoor areas provided they are kept under physical restraint or on a leash not longer than six feet. Owners will be asked to remove noisy or dangerous pets or pets that threaten or harass wildlife. Pets are not allowed in or around lodging facilities. Hunting Island is South Carolina’s single most popular state park, attracting more than a million visitors a year, as well as a vast array of land and marine wildlife. Pet Friendly Fripp Island Beaches
Fripp Island Beaches Dogs are welcome on Fripp Island Beaches. Fripp Island is a barrier island off the coast of South Carolina, just down the road from Beaufort. The island itself is a wildlife sanctuary, with 3.5 miles of uncrowded beaches. As long as Fido is on a leash and all mess is cleaned up after them, dogs are allowed to join their owners for a walk on the sand. See Details
Burkes Beach Burkes Beach is dog-friendly before 10am and after 5pm from April 1st through late September. It's walking distance to the Chaplain Community Park, which includes the Best Friends Dog Park; if you don't like to walk, there are parking spaces in both areas. Alder Lane Beach Access Alder Lane Beach is a great, quiet getaway from the typical beach scene since its crowd size is much smaller than that of the surrounding area beaches. It's located off of South Forest Beach drive, next to the Marriott Grande Ocean Resort, and amenities include Beach Matting, Restrooms, Outdoor Showers, 22 Metered Parking Spaces, and Seasonal Lifeguards. Animals are permitted on the beach during the official beach season, April 1st through September 30th before 10 a.m. and after 5 p.m, or anytime in the off season. They must be on a leash or under positive voice control at all times. Owner's are also required to remove and properly dispose of the animal's excrement as well. See Details
Hilton Head Island Beaches Dogs are allowed on Hilton Head beaches and must be on a leash between 10 am and 5 pm from April 1 through the Thursday before Memorial Day, and must be leashed between the hours of 10 am and 5 pm the Tuesday after Labor Day through September 30. Dogs must be on a leash or under positive voice control at all other times. Dogs must be leashed at all times on Fish Haul and Mitchelville beaches. Dogs not permitted between 10 am and 5 pm from the Friday before Memorial Day through Labor Day. Persons in control of animals on the beach are required to remove and properly dispose of the animal's excrement. Please note that the Beaufort County Sheriff's Department patrols the beaches and enforces all regulations. Violators of beach regulations are subject to fines up to $500 per each offense. Edisto Beach is a dog-friendly beach provided pet parents abide by the rules set forth in the town’s ordinancesThey do now allow pets off leash from Nov 1 to April 30. Pet parents should always make sure their dogs are in control if they are off a leash. It is also important to make sure you and your pets are familiar with the beach as there are significant drop-offs on either side of the groins lining the beach. Edisto Island Ordinances - The ordinances regarding dogs at Edisto Beach are as follows; They must be on a leash on the sandy beach from May 1 through October 31. Otherwise, dogs must be within verbal command of owner, on a leash, or in a secure area within the town limits. For everyone’s convenience, the town just installed some new receptacles for pet waste in higher traffic areas. (Special Note – the above laws pertain to the Town of Edisto Beach. If you will be on State Park property, state law requires that dogs be on a leash year round.) See Details
Fish Haul Beach Park Fish Haul Beach Park is dog friendly year round, during operating hours. Summer hours are from 6am until 9pm, and winter hours are from 6am until 6pm. Dogs must be leashed at all times. This is the only public beach on Hilton Head where dogs are welcome during all operating hours year-round. All other Hilton Head public animal beaches do not allow dogs from Friday before Memorial Day thru Labor Day between the hours of 10am - 5pm. See Details
The Sands The Sands Beach in Port Royal is pet-friendly. You and your pooch can drive almost directly onto the beach, ideal for accessibility.
