Pet Friendly Olde Port Beach in San Luis Obispo, CA
Olde Port Beach is pet-friendly. This popular beach welcomes dogs to play off-leash in the Port San Luis Harbor District. This is the first beach you will find after crossing the bridge out of Avila and into Port San Luis. It has parking along the road and a ramp down to the sand. The beach is accessible all the time, but lifeguards are seasonal.
Pet Friendly Avila Beach in Avila Beach, CA
Avila Beach is the smallest of the beaches in Avila & Port San Luis Harbor and its called dog beach by the locals. No matter what time of day it is, you will more than likely find dogs running free through the surf. The Port San Luis Harbor District currently allows well behaved dogs to be off the leash anytime on this beach and Olde Port Beach. Keep your dog under control, pick up after them and clean up after yourself.
Pet Friendly Cayucos Beach in Cayucos, CA
The town of Cayucos seems to be dog-friendly overall, and the beach is leash-free all up and down it!
Pet Friendly Pismo Beach State Beach in Pismo Beach, CA
This is one of the few state beaches in California that allows you to camp at the state campground (we stayed at North Beach loop) and take your dog on the beach provided he stays on the leash. There are short coastal walking trails along the sand & you're a short walk from the town of Pismo which is very dog friendly.
