The longest section to be developed extends 17.6 miles from Gooseberry Falls State Park to Silver Bay and leads hikers through both urban and natural environments. The trail begins at Gooseberry Falls State Park and continues northeast through Iona’s Beach Scientific and Natural Area and Split Rock Lighthouse State Park before entering Beaver Bay and Silver Bay. This segment offers breathtaking views of the park’s multiple waterfalls, and an expansive vista of the Lake Superior shoreline. Hikers should be mindful of steep hills and curves along this stretch, but there are numerous rest stops along the way for you and Fido. See Details
