Beavertail Hill State Park is a 65-acre dog-friendly recreation area. Located on the Clark Fork River, visitors enjoy great fishing opportunities and recreational boat users can float to their heart's content. Additionally, there's a one-hour nature trail through a thick canopy of cottonwoods that you and Fido can explore together. Dogs are welcome to join their owners throughout the park on a leash, as long as all mess is cleaned up after them. The park is open 24 hours during the main season, May through October. The rest of the year access is restricted to walk-in, day use visitors.

Dogs are welcome to join their owners at Salmon Lake State Park, where you'll discover a pretty body of water on the chain of lakes on the Clearwater River. Anglers who cast out into the water and may pull up a number of different fish, including rainbow, cutthroat, brown, brook and bull trout, largemouth bass, white mountain whitefish, kokanee salmon, yellow perch, and northern pike. Birdwatchers also like to come to the park and check out the variety of species that call the area their home. There are a number of hiking trails that weave around the park and plenty of spots to stop for a picnic along the way. Dogs must be on a leash for the duration of their visit, as long as all mess is cleaned up after them. Salmon Lake State Park is open through the summer until late October.
