It's a moderately easy, 5-mile trek in Ochoco National Forest that will take about 5 hours to complete with Fido. Three different trails lead to the summit of Lookout Mountain from this trailhead. The hike mentioned here is meant to depart on Trail 808A, which follows an old mining road, is partly shaded, but has no water on it. The return hike is meant to be down 808, but those looking for an easier hike with a lot of water and shade may opt to take 808 as an out-and-back hike.
