Take a quaint, charming way to enjoy the beautiful Santa Ynez Valley that is relaxing. and romantic. Take a private horse-drawn wine-tasting tour in the charming Danish Capital of America. The Solvang Trolley, also known as the Honen, boards passengers regularly outside of the Visitor's Center on Copenhagen St. and Second St. and takes them on a 25 minute tour throughout the Downtown Area of Solvang. Passengers rediscover the architecture and attractions of the town on a replica of an 1800's Danish streetcar. Tour guides tell the history of Solvang, explain the origin and significance of many sights and buildings, and share with visitors folk tales and cultural notes from Denmark. They provide as well an insight on activities in town and give general information about the area. It is pulled by two powerful, and always friendly Belgian Draft horses. Buttonwood Farm & Winery A 39-acre vineyard sits on an ancient riverbank high above the Alamo Pintado creek bed in the heart of the Santa Ynez Valley American Viticultural Appellation (AVA), which is distinct due to its transverse orientation. Warm air flows over the nearby San Rafael range to the east to meet cool Pacific breezes from the west, providing an ideal climate for Bordeaux and Rhone varietals. Warm days and bright sunshine provide a perfect environment during the growing season, and the large diurnal shift to cold temperatures at night help maintain the grapes natural acidity.
