Mt. Bachelor Ski Resort There are so many ways to have fun with your pup at the Mount Bachelor Ski Resort in Bend, OR. Dogs are allowed on the Pine Marten chair lift during the summer months, as long as they are fitted with an owner-provided full body harness capable of safely supporting the animal’s weight in the event a lift evacuation is required. Fido is also allowed on approved dog-friendly hiking trails, but must remain under restricted length (8 feet or less) leash control. Mt. Bachelor does not offer an off-leash area in the summer due to protected wildlife and vegetation. Hiking tickets are available for a fee. During the winter months the resort provides an off-leash, Ruffwear Dog Park. The park has a snow-play area for dogs, as well as dog toys. The park can be found at the far west end of the West Village parking area. The Mt. Bachelor Base Area is a "Doggie Free Zone." Dogs must remain in the parking lot (on a leash) or supervised in the Ruffwear Dog Park. See Details
Riverbend Beach Dog Park Also known as "Dog Park Beach," Riverbend Beach Dog Park is an off-leash park in Bend, OR. It is fully fenced on both the dog park side and the river side with a pathway in between. Deschutes National Forest The vast majority of the Bend, OR's Deschutes National Forest is pet-friendly and accommodates off-leash opportunities for dogs. From May 15 to September 15, dogs must be leashed in campgrounds, in Three Sisters Wilderness Area (Green Lakes, Moraine Lakes, South Sister, Soda Creek, Todd Lake and Crater Ditch trails), and the Deschutes River Trail (unless they are exiting or entering the water). In winter (November 1 to May 1) dogs are allowed on all but 1% of the Deschutes National Forest. The area where dogs are not allowed is located north of the Cascade Lakes Highway and includes areas accessed by the Virginia-Meissner, Swampy Lakes, Vista Butte and Dutchman Sno-Parks. Dogs are allowed in the area with a permit, for the purpose of skijoring or dog sledding. See Details
